i'm building a coaster with the maximum g 6.5 in yellow ( counted on busters g-meter: http://d1jlserver.dnsalias.net/CCDev2/p ... fm?fid=516 )

Would you knock down points because the g-'s are that high[?]

6.5g is fine, real coasters have operated with more than that and it just makes the ride more intense.

True. It will make the ride more intense...sorta like vekoma. Some ppl are crazy and will go wild if they see anything above 3.0 gs.

I dont know. Maybe i would knock down points on that. I think that 6.5 g's is pretty high for a person to withstand while on a coaster. I would knock down but not that much.

Well Duh! If a coaster wasnt intensifiying then none of us would probably go on any coasters.

IntaminFan397. what are you talking about. there are no real coasters that pull more than 5 g's max.
infact, in Nh it is a law that you cant have any coasters that go over 4.2 g's. most states have that law but it is not always the same g's. like when i was in maine, at funtown spalshtown, they added a turbo drop. and i was talking with the manager of the park and he was telling me that they got the state of maine to raise the law limit on g's to 5.1. and that is still really high.

Anyway. me, i think 6.5 is way to high. that would get to the point of a head ache on the ride and that would be no fun.

Yea, I might ride on a ride like that. I don't know though. I think I might black out. Also, think of some of the ppl on the ride. Would somebody that doesn't read the signs that say don't ride if you have a heart condition etc. survive? Don't just think about what you would like, think about what the public would like. Also, I wouldn't count down much points.

To me, it depends on the type of coaster, and the way that part of the track is built. If I feel those g's can be fixed without totaly distoring the look and feel of that element, then I do deduct points off for bad planning. On the other hand, if the coaster is a re-creation, and you use real stats to build it, I'll let it slide if the g's come close to the real stats. Also, I won't deduct points for semi high g's if the element which it's on is a custom built element that's been tweak to the fullest.(aka smooth as butter, and semi real looking), but only if the semi high g's show for a split second.

I think the question is whether you would actually enjoy the coaster if there were that many G's. Also how long the high G's are witheld/experienced.

Yeah, if the g's only flash to 6.5 very quickly, then that would be fine, but if it stayed at 6.5 for more than a split second, then it could start to get a little dangerous. The highist g's on any roller coaster, are 5.7g's, on "The shaft of terror"

The highest gs on any coaster was 12 gs [;)] (Flip Flap Railway), though I don't recommend going up to that. But there are several coasters that go over 6 gs, Moonsault Scramble had close to 7, Texas Tornado hit 6.7g, and Mindbender used to have 6.4g

Whered you get that flawed info that no real coasters pull over 5gs?

Also, 6.5 would not be a headache at all, it just makes the ride better, high gs never gave me a headache.

ahhhhhh, cool, I bet that friggin hurt. Silly people, its one of them old looping rides yeah, where they hadn't figured out how to make the loops less of a strain on people, and the loops were just circular. I was talking about modern coasters, cus people died on rides like that, which is why I would knock down the points if someone had a ride that went to 6.5 g's :D so i'm still right [lol] hahaha, nah, but still, mental ride that must have been

It would be better than any of the current loopers today. 12g circular intense loop would be so much more awesome IMO then an over-engineered parabolic 3g loop, though most people wouldn't be able to handle the gs of Flip Flap Railway. I'd love to ride it though [:)] The FFR shows how wood can do anything steel can BTW [;)]

There are fairly modern coasters that had 6.5g and most people came off of them fine, like the Texas Tornado and Moonsault Scramble, though I don't know much about how the people handled the gs...

You realize that people DIE at around 14 g's, I wouldn't ride on the FFR, people snapped their necks on it! I would like to have an intense ride, but not one that I might just snap my neck in.
