Texas, in my rate when I used the term prefabs, I was refering to the use of either using a track created mostly or atleast over 50% composed of pre-made elements, using either Elementary or the elements that come with NL. I am strictly against Elementary for this main reason, it builds the track for you using math. I love math and all, but this is NL, creating your own tracks for fun. What fun is it to you to just use a program to build the most diffucult part of the track, you do not learn anything and IMO its almost like stealing. Like I said I do not mind prefabs, however when they are used everyother segment it begins to tick me off. It tells me that you do not really care about making an effort-worthy creation, and that you just want high rates and points. Even worse, the area where the prefabs were, the track was pretty boring. Because a rate is my opinion of the coaster, and it wasnt all happy and a ten, doesnt mean you have to report it. IMO I would rather be rated down for a track that deserves it with adequete feedback so that in the future I could improve. CJD, I was a bit dissapointed in you, considering the great mod you are. Maybe the "prefabs" term was why you deleted my rate, however it was for some other reason, please post why, because I reserve the right to rate a coaster in anyway I like, as long as it is detailed and fair. Thank You.

Brtn, using elementary is not prefabs. Don't you know that real coaster makers design their tracks entirely by math? The designer comes up with the track path, and then the engineering department takes it into the computers and deals with making the turning radius consistant in the turns, and the banking the right amount perfect for 0 g's, all using complex math equations. You should not downrate people for using math to make their coasters. As far as your rating goes, the comment you posted said nothing negative about the coaster except thet it used "prefabs", which it didn't. Considering that your rating was the lowest of all of them and your only complaint was invalid, I believe it was more than fair to remove the rating.

Although I agree and know that real designers use math (or a program to use) we are not real designers, and prefabs are any element inserted, (pre) before, already made, (fabricated) created or made,(pre-fabs (prefabricated) already made elements). No hard feelings, but we are not real designers, we are coaster lovers and NL or any other sim designers. This is a hobby and should be fun, not like a job. Using prefabs or elementary elements (EE) for a track that is to be compared with others who spent hours (30-90+), making a track equally as smooth or pumpless, is quite unfair to all other designers at this site and other coaster exchange sites. I find it also a bit odd, that you claimed you had no knowledge of the definition of a prefab, yet you know its not an EE.
Bottom line: One who uses Elementary should not recieve as high of a rate to another person, who spent countless hours slaving over a track. My new rating system with prefabs and EE, is that for every EE or prefab segment I deduct .5 of a point from either originality or technical, depending upon the situation. I always find it interesting to see the rate that may be overall a 1-2 points lower than the rest, to be reported, even if it is clearly defended even though its not all like "Great job, a perfect 10". Along with my new prefab EE system I will also never rate a coaster a 10, as no coaster is perfect, nearly like no person is either.

I am sure cjd meant to lock this thread, as for your ratings Brtnboarder495, I am sure you can learn to use math in a matter of a minute or two so that way you can call insult to those less fortunate or learning. I mean, the way you make it seem is like anyone can use the tools to do such thing and they don't have to learn the math or have learned it in the past which could have taken hours, days, weeks to learn fully. Therefore any coaster with prefabs or elementary rated by you will be deemed a false rating and thus removed likewise as you are being biased.
