Hello all,

As you might have noticed it has already been 4 weeks ago since the deadline and the results should have been here a long time ago already. However, I tried to get in contact with andy via email and PM but he isn't responding. I don't care if he is on vacation because he must have known that before and should have had the judging done before he left. Anyway, maybe something else happened, I have no clue, but we can't keep you guys waiting forever. That's why I decided to judge the entries myself, but this means that you all will have to re-submit your parks to gforceaddict@coastercrazy.com
Sorry about this, but I can't control other people and I wished RCTandy just did what he said he would. One more thing, the sooner I have the parks, the sooner the judging can be over. I'll also send emails to all of you to get the results in a.s.a.p.

Avast me hearties! Gather 'round and I'll tell ye a tale that'll set yer barnacles ta quakin'.... Set down yer pints o' grog, grab ahold o' yer nearest and dearest wench, and harken ye ta th' tale o' Skull Island....

Ye?????????ve just keelhauled yer filthy rival Cap?????????n Hook and now Skull Isle is yer?????????s! Now set yer crew to work on makin????????? park that'll put hairs on yer chest and fear in the heart o' many a weak-bladdered landlubber.

Ye?????????ve got the following????????? to work with:

1. Jungle/waterfall section with some 'ungry crocs.
2. Plenty o' flat land fer buildin' on and whatnot
3. A coral reef that'll tear th' hull out o' any ship.
4. Yer own beloved vessel, the Jolly Roger.
5. An island backdrop from the buccaneers o' UCES.
6. Danger and adventure packed inta ev'ry square!

And here be yer tasks:

1. Build a bloody entrance building????????? worthy o????????? th????????? pirate name!
2. Rebuild Cap?????????n Hook?????????s fort inta th????????? new base fer yer piratical operations!
3. Make a Mine Train Coaster to scare th????????? barnacles of o????????? yer landlubber guests!
4. Build a tavern so?????????s yer crew can ?????????ave a place ter party and drink grog an????????? whatnot!
5. Put in some other coasters, rides, n????????? such and make th????????? best pirate park that e?????????er sail th????????? Seven Seas!

Goal translations (fer landlubbers what be unfamiliar to piratespeak):

1) Build a pirate-themed entrance building
2) Construct a building in the area of the old burned-down fort (does not have to be exactly the same area, but close)
3) Include a mine train coaster somewhere in the park
4) Build a tavern (like a bar, pub, or restaurant) with at least two food/drink stalls
5) The edges of the island and coral reef may be slightly terraformed, but if the island looks too different you will lose points. Terraforming other areas is ok.
6) No trainers allowed, but you may edit the rides/objects and you may use WW and TT if you wish.
7) Make the best pirate-themed park you can!

One other rule, ye can do a bit o????????? terraformin????????? but if ye change th????????? shape o????????? th????????? island too much, ye?????????ll get a penalty!

Once your park is uploaded to the exchange you are not allowed to update your park by sending in an updated version of your park. You are allowed to send in an updated version(s) as long as the park is not on the exchange.

One question: do we have to keep the prison/cage? And if we do, can we remove the roof and make it a part of other buildings?

I've never done a competion before so do you think I would be able to cope with this one?

No, you don't have to keep the jail or the prisoners. You can do something different with it or get rid of it altogether, I just thought it would be fun to see what you guys might do with it.

Well, I'm doin it, if I find enough time...should be my first RCT contest, though.

Alright, I guess I'll enter. I haven't played RCT2 for months but hey, I'll try it atleast.

hehe how long have you been working on setting this up?
well it's too bad my worst theming is pirate or i might just give it a shot.
i'm gonna try this theme in a few track files and if i like it enough i might
throw those tracks into the workbench and see if i can make the thing small
enough for my slow self to tackle and finish before christmas
let me just put it this way: there's a 90% chance i'm not in. I think i should
finish my own park first. and oh yeah... i'm lazy! so basically my comment here was pointless. :/ good luck to the participants!

Because andy needs some time judging and I will be supervising that, so that means I have to be there when the judging is done. Unfortuneately I'm going on vacation the second of July, so it needs to be done before that date.
It might be postponed to somewhere like the 11th of July, but I'll discuss that with Andy first. Untill further notice we'll have this deadline. And I don't think it's that fast because the template ain't that massive.

Yes, feel free to change things with the scenario editor, as long as you don't make it all like space themeing or something...

You got me.[;)] Yes, this is a version of my own Skull Island workbench, updated exclusively for this compo.

You can build it wherever you like, as long as peeps have to go through it before they reach any rides.

No, just complete the goals listed above. 10 coasters would make this little island pretty crowded!

Deadline: June 27th 23:59 GMT, unless it is moved back, which I am open to.

I am looking forward to seeing all of your parks! I know sometimes people have to drop out due to time constraints or other reasons, but it's still good to see a good response like this. Good luck to everyone!
