Hi all, I currently own no limits and love it. but since Scream machines has just released their new patch that has suspended coasters on it i was wondering if sm was worth the money. Couple questions...

Who has SM and if so do you like it?

Who has both, which ones better?

what is the official homepage to scream machines so i can look it up?

any and all info will be accepted
thanks in advance.

I have both and on realism SM is by far far better. For some reason everyone gets Graphics and Realism mixed up when they talk about these two sims. There is no doubt that realism wise SM is obviously better. It has loads of tracks to choose from, all the realistic features you find on coasters, such as transfer tracks that actualy move and to be honest i cold go on forever. However when it comes to graphics NL does have the upper hand and also with the release of v 1.5 we could see something even better.

So in other words id would SM, there both easy to use and both have there good nd bad points

I got SM on the holiday sale, which, sadly you missed. Instead of saying which I like better, I'll list the general advantages and disadvantages of each.

NL:
+IMO, easier to use editor
+more realistic graphics
-not as flexible w/ options
-has fewer coaster types
SM:
+Many options
+many coaster types to use
-a little harder to use editor (IMO)
-has a harder to use landscaping system

SM is improving fast, but don't forget about the car remakes of NL that's coming out. I suggest you get both so you can decide better. Asking which is better isn't excacly answerable. Each, as I've said, has advantages and disadvantages.

I've got both. NL runs faster on my computer but screammachines offers more than NL. i do most designing in SM because i prefer that editor over NL's but i mostly download NL coasters because i usually get over 40fps. Screammachines is worth more than what DIOA is selling it for, at 25 bucks its a steal. But why dont you decide for yourself instead of asking other people, you can download the demo at www.wounded-heart.com. You can do anything but save your tracks and after 30 days (i think) you wont be able to use it anymore.

I got also both, but think that SM is not that good as NL. NL looks for me a little bit more real. Also NL is easier to use. But SM has got a lot of train styles and a storage-function which I really love.

So NL is my favorite but SM comes close behind.

been using NL for a couple of years, downloaded the demo of SM and really didn't see anything I liked over NL, and it played havoc with my comp (installing the patch crashed my comp, which had been running for about two months uninterrupted, couldn't remember my user password!). I've deleted SM completely...for those that like it, more power to them.

Well unfortunetly there IS NO SM for Mac users, which sucks, because SM loses alot of money off of NL users. NL was smart and made a Mac compatible version. I cannot tell the difference because I have a mac and cannot run SM, so NL rules over SM in my opinion.

I just downloaded the demo version of SM and the only thing I liked over NL was the sounds, especially the chain lift.

SM, better editor, more realistic performance, tons of tweaking, g readout in the editor. tons more track styles, tons more train styles. Way better technical support, all patches released on the real dev's site. I like SM more over NL, I have some pretty cool designs on it too, maybe one day I'll upload my past ones here.

p.s. why post this question in the NL forum? I'll move it to the offtopic forum

[lol]Looks like someone forgot to move. Also another issue is that NL needs about 100 user made add-ons to make the track anywhere near realistic, whereas SM has a built in track smooher and what not. You can also rely on SM coming up with all the original ideas, so expect to see new features/train styles and what not in SM first, then a couple of months later youll seee exactly the same thing in NL...weird that!

I tink they're both very good, SM has got much more track styles, much more options and that kinda stuff. NL has got better graphics, and the sound is great.

Personally I think NL is better, but you won't regret of buying SM cause SM comes very very close

There is a track style labelled Invisible. The train that comes with it is invisible as well. It is mainly there for modders who make their own trains. I know of a couple of projects in the works that take advantage of it.

I have both, and NL is good @ realism, but i like SM because there track types. And if you have got skillz enough you can also create very realistic tracks.

what is the official homepage to scream machines so i can look it up?
