Hey guys,
Had about a page worth of reply typed up and then my computer froze. [}:)]So here goes version two, probably will be slightly abridged though.[}:)]
First of all, you all have my sincerest apologies for my being out of touch. My MSN Messenger has been acting very weird. I haven't even been able to connect for the past month or so. I got on for about 10 minutes last night but then it just kinda randomly kicked me off in the middle of a conversation with MoP. However, my AIM still works fine, so feel free to contact me on that. My screenname is lateralgeforce. Also, you can email me if you wish, at
nick.ciagratech@gmail.com. Forum wise, I've been avidly reading just as normal, but for some reason I've been way too lazy to actually post. Anyways I'm not dead.
Lightning Wheels website wise, it's actually been totally complete for a few weeks now. Forums and all. Reason why it hasn't been opened: absolutely none, more of my lazyness. I'll launch it as soon as I'm done with this post though. [:D] You can access the website at
http://www.ciagratech.com/lightningwheels/ or within a few days (once the DNS changes resolve) at
http://www.lightningwaregames.com. The reason for the name/address change is because Lightningware is now a division of Ciagra Technologies, a corporation I own. In a little while, THAT site should be up too.
http://www.ciagratech.com if you're interested.
And finally, game wise. [:D] Progress is moving along quite fluently, especially considering there were a few major setbacks. The worst of them being the entire programming process had to be restarted due to a change in programming languages. I changed from DarkBasic Pro to a much more stable language for a few reasons: a) Now when we release the game, I'll have satisfied customers and not compatibility issues b) Much lower system requirements (only requiring DirectX 7 for example) and smaller files c) Much easier for me to code in a much better language. Most of the change was made in only two weeks. Even with all the major setbacks we've had, I still hope to meet the November deadline. I cannot promise that this will happen, but I think it is a major possibility.
Feature wise, not much is new. All I can really say is that progress is progressing nicely (was that coherent? [:P]) and just be patient and it will come [;)]. Also, just to prove that progress REALLY has been going on, I've got some screenshots![8D][:D][:D]I'll post em up on the new website (again should be open within a day or so).
Again, you have my sincerest apologies about everything, and everything taking so long. And to those who are unaware what Lightning Wheels-Ultimate Roller Coaster Simulator is, you can see the original 17 page topic here:
http://coastercrazy.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2151, which has everything from the very beginning (September 8th '03) till about now.
Thanks,
Nick Small.
