Wow, okay. I'm shocked. Where to begin.

This new site has in no way any support from me, permission from me,
endorsement from me, etc. Get it? For heavens sake, the design is a rip
off of mine, the logo is one I made. I am prepared to fight this out. This
is a blatant violation of copyright. I demand you remove the logo, any
implication that the site is related to the former
coastergames.net/cg1.org site, including the site design that you copied.
I'm furious that you did this with out asking me. If all materials named
above are not removed from the site with 24 hours, and this message is not
posted on the site front page within that same 24 hour period, I will be
forced to contact your ISP (RebelHosting) to have the site removed.

He said you had given him permission, obviously he has lied. He opsted about it on the Scream Machines site a while back. Brian even warned him about it too.

Thanks for the heads up Tyler. I signed up earlier today with the assumption that this site had your blessing. Since it obviously does not, I will not participate there.

Tyler, if you're so protective of your site, WHY DON'T YOU OPEN IT AGAIN? It's obvious people loved the place, now we won't be able to enjoy it anymore. Shaun was doing the community a favor, unlike this little childish act.

OH, and btw, Shaun DID ask you, and you brushed it off with a "whatever i'm through with that site" type attitude. Apparently you're NOT through with the site, if you're going to act as childish as this. Shaun has proof, so you can't deny it.

Just thought the community would like to know the truth ;D

What, the same community that (with a few noted exceptions) just stood by as I paid $100s in hosting? The same community who often acted, as you are now, that I have some sort of obligation to you? No thanks. I'm through with that 'community'. If the community thought the site was so worthwhile, maybe some more would have acted to help save it when it actually mattered. CG wasn't the 'communities' site, it was MY site. I spent hundreds of dollars and thousands of hours on that site making it what it was. When it grew beyond what I could support, some members of that community seemed outraged that I pulled the plug. Well, it's not a move that I regret, not something I would handle differently, and certainly not a decision that I will ever change. CG is dead. Get over it. I didn't kill it. I just had to do what was best for me. Most people respected my decision, and I thank them for that. I'm through with that part of my life. It's over. Done. It's not coming back, either under my leadership, or that of someone else.

Maybe people didn't donate because you are an ass? The community was one of the biggest if not the biggest in the coaster gaming world. I have it on log that you told me whatever, and you cannot threaten to sue me with a copyright infringement story because after some research, i came to find no copyrights or trademarks (dead or alive) under your name, or under registration for the website "coastergames.net".

The US has automatic copyright. After 1972, all works are automatically copyrighted.

Well, then I am going around the net suing people who quote my words in a forum, or who use the work the, because, well, i use it, its a personal copyright i guess, so ok, I want royalty for the word the... hmmmm.. should get rich..perhaps..?

Also, btw, all my exchange is hand coded, none of it is exactly like yours. There is not one place that is exactly like yours... take a look at the coding of the site if you wish, I don't care... I hand coded it, everything is mine and copyright of me then, so I guess i can reopen... the image is based off of yours, yes, but not the same... the layout is based off of yours, yes, but not nearly the same.

It's pathetic that you're trying to justify what you did. You're totally in the wrong, and you know it. Why not admit like a man, instead of groveling like a spoiled child?

I'm not in anyway groveling... if you don't want to handle the site anymore leave and don't look at it again. Nothing, NOTHING on the site was made by you. I have the NL track I used for the logo, i have the logo.png file, i have all my hand coded pages still with me... basing isn't illegal, copying is. But am planning on following one thing from your statement... removing all implications of relation to CG.net.

But what you did is copying, quite clearly so. Think of it this way. You take a novel, and change a word here and there. That's a copy, not an original work.

NOTHING is copied. Not a single word. All images were made by me, the only thing that is relatively closed to copyed is the logo... fine i will change the logo... will that make you happy?

No, it won't make me happy. The only thing that will make me happy is if you forget this entire thing, and stop trying to duplicate what I did.

What's the deal here? Who owns the domain? The person who pays for that can do what they want with it. Whoever produced the work, owns it, unless otherwise specified in a contract.

He clearly stated that they were the same rules as the old site... But you did ask for everything to be removed in reference to the previous site, so I guess that's a valid request.

Why post this in site related? Why make a fight about it on my site, prolly a good thing since neither has the power to delete the topics made [;)] Anyway, I don't want to be in the middle of this and if you do make a fuss about this on my site, do it in the offtopic board, not in my site related forum and it is not related to my website. and OKCJ, I prohibit you from using the shout box.
