Its close, but I am going to say Cedar Point because:
1) Its not a six flags park
2) It doesnt have standing coasters that are not operational ie/ superman & flashback
3) cedar point is close to me ;)

But I have yet to goto either park :(

Well, I have to say the majority of the coasters at both parks aren't very good. I guess I'd say SFMM, although almost all the coasters there aren't that great...CP is even worse though.

In terms of how the parks are, I think CP is the overall better park.

cedar point definatly! i havent been to sfmm yet, but cp has good rides, and they have rides for everyone. six flags seems to just have rides for teenagers and adults.. not too much for kids.

Why do you think they both have crappy coasters?

When did I say that I thought they both have crappy coasters?

Almost all the coasters at both SFMM and CP just don't thrill me too much. Height or speed does nothing for me, I prefer coasters with intense lateral forces and airtime, and frankly CP or SFMM have many rides that lack that.

Yes they do...Riddler's Revenge, B:TR, and Scream.

SFMM (in valencia California) gets my Nod hands down. Its Not dubed a Amusment park its called a Extreme Roller Coaster Park (i think) and if you love later G's etc.. you have to ride X it is by far the best coaster i have ever Ridden (hands down no competition) but my favorite Rides at SFMM is in order.

1. X <-- i havent seen or ridden anything this intense and Amazing

2. Riddlers Revenge <-- Best Stand up coaster in the world IMHO

3. Bat Man the Ride <-- a good Suspended Coaster with some good G's and Elements.

4. Goliath <-- Insane first drop (yes theres better just i havent ride those yet) and Fun Fast coaster.

when i goto SFMM i start at the bottom of my list and work my way up. Why ? because if i didnt i wouldnt ride anything else after riding X its just that good. Im literaly planing a trip to SFMM where i ride X than go eat lunch (or cram a ride on Riddlers Revenge than go eat lunch - out of the park ) and come back (with hand stamp) and ride it 2 more times before i leave. its worth the 50 buck of admission to me to just ride X 3 or 4 times in 1 day.

well to me crappy = not very good
I agree that while for example TTD is high and fast, just like S:TE, they both look boring

Yeah, IF, too bad B:TR is one of the most intense rides out there...For B&Ms, it is easily the most intense...

And actually, I think both parks have some good rides...I would probably take SFMM's Riddler's Revenge over CP's Mantis, but I'd probably go with Raptor over B:TR...

But I'd go with CP...TTD, Millennium (which is awesome, despite IF's flip-flop views), Raptor, Magnum, and Blue Streak are all great rides...

I have never been to sfmm but I had a techer that used to live in ca and went to that park. If I ever go to six flags magic moutin I hope to get on the viper it looks like alot of fun but relly instese my techer sad that you get alot of air time on the viper.

How is phoenix your favorite ride? Why isn't height and speed important to you? Height and speed are some of the most important aspects in a coaster. and Scream, Riddler, and Batman are not kiddie rides! lol

Well, I dunno, I kinda agree with Scream! being a kiddie ride, but not Riddlers Revenge cus kids wouldn't be able to get up into the seats, well, not seats, but you know what I mean [;)][lol]......thats why its not a kiddie coasters, cus kids can't get in [;)] nah, its a good coaster really, probably one of the more thrilling coasters there and it was actually my favourite ride for a time, for a year or so after i went to america and went on it.

But, yeah, anyway, my choice is SFMM, because does cedar point have anything quite like X?? no, it doesn't. That ride is a completely unique piece of engineering and there is nothing like it anywhere else. Much like Nemesis is unique and has nothing like it anywhere else. X for me, just clinches it for SFMM.

Scream! is just like Medusa! Do you consider Medusa a kiddie coaster? A kiddie coaster is more like Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster! lol...

Looks like your teacher has been spending too much time riding coasters, and not enough time teaching his/her students good grammar...I'm just kidding...but seriously, it'd be a bit easier for us to understand what you were saying if you would spell things correctly.

I aggree with IF on this one, I mean I crave air, and sometimes lats, on woodies that is. In other words I CRAVE intense G's, and well many parks dont have coasters that really have that excitement I like, look here:

Wicked twister: ok so some bearly exciting wieghlitnes, high speeds and turns, to short, not excitinh
Millinieum Force: Ok so a nice drop, nice speed, cool overbanks but only 4 areas of air! Count em, 4 areas of air on a 300 ft.high of track over 6500 ft long. Needs more air. SROS is almost better
Mean Streak: what a let down, mostly tame lats, and almost NO air, actually this was pretty dissapointing
TTD: ok so its fast and high, but I got NO air (at least I didnt notice any) or lats, blaah, what a waste of time to wait in line.
XL 200: Prolly one of the best coasters there even though its 15 years old. Nice but rough spots of air and some nice lats near the turnaround.
Blue Streak: Quite suprising, a smoother woodie with some real nice but not extreme air, seemed kind of short though.
Raptor: ok this had some REAL nice G's and inversions but it aint easy on the stomach. It is quite an intense ride. One of the best at CP
Iron Dragon: waste of time, nothing more to say
Corkscrew: waste of time, nothing else to say
Mantis: REally smooth coaster with some fun inverisons, unique layout and good examples of heartlining and air, its full of suprises!

I think thats it and although I havent been to SFMM, I think CP is better.

yeah, scooby doo's ghoster coaster is a kiddy coaster. and cedar point has some nice family rides like woodstock express and troika. sfmm doesnt have family rides. no six flags park has family rides. its either big roller coasters that kids are scared to ride, big fancy 100 inversion flat rides, or rides like goliath jr. when i went to my first six flags park, i was about 7 or 8. i went to sfgadv. and then, i was too scared of the big huge coasters like the great american scream machine, yet i was too tall for the less intense rides. and i noticed that every six flags park i've been to has the exact same situation. if ya like big coasters, then its a good park, but there's not much else to do that's more family oriented. cp on the other hand has a great variety of family rides that are mixed in with the big huge coasters.

Magic Mountain's coasters gave more inversions, the whole park has 31 inversions in all, while all of Cedar Points together are 13 inversions, i think magic mountain has flashier coasters, but cedar point is a clean, nice park. While on the other hand SFMM is a dirty dump, well that's at least what i've heard!

oh yes, cp is very very clean! that in itself is another reason why cp is much better than sfmm
