when looking for the best thrill possible at a nice park, don't go to Six Flags Magic Mountain.
Also, when at Six Flags Magic Mountain, hit Viper in the afternoon, no the morning, that's when everybody else decides to go on it. In the afternoon, you get the sun in your eyes, but minimal line time, you could always ride it at night, too. When Batman the Ride has a short line, take advantage of it by going on it several times. That's all of anything important to anyone

leave a small gap between you and your lap bar on a woodie (like Roar) or one with loads of airtime. When the ride hits a hill, you'll have more air rather than being stapled to your seat.

dont drink soda because it gives you gas and positive g's plus gas will make you sick. drink milk instead because it neutralizes the acid in your stomach, reducing the chances of that yucky feeling you get when riding 8 or 9 too many rides. (or you could just take a tums, but that doesnt hydrate you as well [;)])

NEVER judge any coaster until you have ridden it at night. In the evening, the average coaster runs 5-10 mph faster than in the morning (by the end of the ride). I rode The Raven at Holiday World in the morning, and would have given it maybe a high +3, but then I rode it again at night, and it soared to #2 on my all time wood list with a perfect +5 rating. Same with Millennium Force... +4 in the morning, +5 at night. I have science behind me on this one... as the air cools off, wood and steel constrict, which makes them stiffer and therefore they absorb less of the train's energy because the track does not "give" as much.

when at CP go straight for Raptor right when the park opens, itll have no lines at all, and you could ride it almost 3 times in less than a half hour.

actually it only feels faster, just cuz its darker, and you can't see perfectly where your going, which is the reason why everything is more fun at night. [approve]

well, you can ride Raptor and Millennium Force 1/2 hour earlier than the GP if you have a season pass or are staying at one of the hotels. If you are a GP, you have to be there right when the gates open, or you will end up waiting in an hour line. These long lines last until about 1 PM, and then they are fairly lower until the end of the day. From 8PM to later, the lines are the shortest because everyone has left already. And if there was just a little bit of rain at about 4 or 5, the lines will bearly exist.

with the thing about riding at night / in the evening: later in the day it warms up and the trains run faster because the grease is more slick (wooden rides) as for steel rides, they give a very simmilar ride all throughout the day, but at night it seems faster because its dark.

Rides go faster at night is much like swimming pools - they absorb the heat throughout the day and run faster for numerous reasons - grease is slicker, steel can expand and contract depending on the weather, things like that. Although it is a well known fact coasters run faster in warm weather. Night riding is great in my opinion - definately more fun than normal day rides. I remember when we hit the Hulk at night - The most awesome ride experience ever :)

Ok, I'm gong there for only for a day and no matter what, I can't get 2 days. I try whining to my parents and all I get is blah blah blah we have to save money for blah blah blah. So no, I can't get any of that. Plus "your the only one in the family that likes blah blah blah". So please don't talk about the night and all that stuff cause that makes me even more pissed off that I can't go during that time. No, I don't have a season pass, and blah blah blah I just mentioned everything already.

Ah all that talking about the night is really getting me pissed off because you get that opportunity, I don't. Our family never takes any vacations anyways.

BTW, I'm probably going to be in the park from 10:30am to 6:30pm. I think I'd better stop talking about this and go eat noodles before I get even more pissed off.

Dad, add me some extra MSG please. [:p]

Another tip: Ride any coaster, especially woodies in cold pouring rain!

well, first off, "balh" isnt a word.. and second, how can you not afford to go to a park at night? it's the same price all day, and places like kennywood and probably cedar point and almost everywhere else have a deal where it's practically 70%off at night. (kennywood was 40 for the day, 13 after...6?)

No!! That's the worst thing you can do on rough coasters. Keep your head IN FRONT of the restraints and push your uper body against the restraints and it will reduce headbanging to a minimum!

There, I edited all my typos if it makes you feel any better.

Goddamnit maybe because we can't afford to stay at a hotel??? hint hint. No, silly, we can't jsut go there at night and drive home. No one's going to take me there anyways. In fact even if we do, it'll be like 2:30am when we get home, obviosly. No parents will let their 13 yr old stay up that late either.

Anyways, I heard that they're changing the opening time to 10:00 becasue of some fall time or whatever, and I heard taht teh bus drive isn't going ot be that long, so that means I can get there on time, hopefully, we can outrun the GP and get the smashed lines.

On rough woodies, avoid sitting over the wheels if possible.

I'm surprised this one hasn't been mentioned yet, because it is THE most important thing: When it's your turn to ride, sit in the seat and fasten the restraint. When the ride is over, get off. [:D]

Uh, every single seat on any roller coaster is above the wheels. Top Thrill Dragster has 60 wheels on each train, and there are sets of wheels in the front and the back of every single car on a wooden coaster, making it impossible not to be sitting over the wheels.

If you sit in the middle of the car on trains that have 3 rows per train you are in fact not above any wheels.

obviously not every woodie has 3 rows per train, so that is why I said "If possible".

Steel trains and woodie trains are designed a bit different. If you look a little closer at the TTD trains you will see that the wheel dollies are more in between the cars rather than directly under them. The same thing goes for Arrow trains
