okay, i noticed that during the past few weeks, almost all of the nl coasters have been really really bad. WHY? where did all the good coaster designers go? mre recently, i noticed some ratings of 7's and 8's...... so i got excited and downloaded the rides, only to realize that the quality is still poor, but the raters seemingly adapted their ratings to make it look like they're good. what's happening? why give a crap ride a good rating because its better than other rides being uploaded recently? if you ask me, the majority of nl rides in the past few weeks dont deserve much above a 3 or 4. where did all the good designers go?

...also, i would have put this in the complaints forum, but i really have no idea if its a complaint or not[:I] but at least in the off topic forum i wont get in trouble[8D][;)] so.. yeah, any comments? did anyone else notice that too?

i COMPLETELY agree, i noticed it too. almost every coaster sucks. i think this is because of the good builders have stopped, because they dont like nl anymore. i think we have to wait for 1.5, so the good builders will start building again [:D]

I agree, the overall average rating of coasters, not just on this site, seems to be constantly decreasing as of late. Some of the best coasters were released in the earlier years in the game, and now with the increase in tools and whatnot else the standard has decrease. Dont get me wrong, im not blaming it entirly on the tools, but for me at least, the tools have put me off building coasters. Just by the fact that its harder to get your own coasters up to the same standard as other coasters by doing things yourself and your hard work never ends up paying off.

I think people are losing interest in NL somewhat. Thats why that update is coming soon (hopefully), it should keep us hooked on NL.

I lost interest a long time ago and am not a good builder. But since demand is high and I could use positive critique I will make a super smooth jaw dropper. If you can keep me working on it that is... Do we have a "deal"??

I'm currently working on finishing a new coaster. This coaster was inspired by the new 'Italian Job' coasters.
Its looking pretty sweet :D

I think its probably because I haven't uploaded an NL coaster in a while [lol] was that a bit big headed? hehe. Yeah, I noticed this aswell, but maybe what I said was right in a way, because I haven't seen any of what I would call 'the big names' upload any rides lately, like Edge or someone, so maybe its just cus lately people have been doing other things *shrugs shoulders*. Anyway, I'm sure its nothing and it'll pick up again soo enough [;)]

it's something that I noticed also with the medal count... for the past 5 or 6 months, all the nolimits medals went to newbs who had never won anything before. Well, I can say that I will be making coasters again soon... I finally got my nolimits cd back from tampa. I know I'm not the best, but this new line of tracks I'm working on will be cool.

I would tend to say that the tracks have all gotten better on the whole.

What has happened in turn is the standards have risen HIGHER than the tracks being put out. The tracks of early sucked for the most part...but standards were low and the rides seemed amazing.

People have grown to understand roller coasters, their design, their methods and apply those to their rates. This brings the scores down alot. I bet this could be confirmed if you look at the ratings given today versus a year or 2 ago. Most of them today on the average are more indepth and more nit picky. Its probably a cross between a rising standard and more people being overanalytical instead of enjoying the game :P

I agree with Real. Basically for emphasis read his reply again, since I don't think I could have said it better.

Oh sorry, I will try to upload more! [lol] jkin. Anyway, I agree with Real as well. Today in a coaster if it even has one instance of pumping the rate will drop from a 9 to an 8, which is quite a alot. However, as also said, few years ago a coaster could have pumping all over and have a high 7 low 8. What people have to understand is that although we should strive for the best, we arent real coaster designing companies like Intamin, were just people who like coasters and making them on our computer as a hobby. I would say that another issue is that there are a lot of new members to WWS and NL, which means that there will be alot of new tracks that arent, well, spectacular. I mean I think WWS's members have almost doubled or tripled in the past year, so WWS is still growing faster, thus producing more new members at a higher rate, creating a higher ratio of newbish tracks. Sorry If I got too technical or typed to much, I got carried away!

I'd have to also agree with real, if you really want a better idea of this download the 2-year old tracks by Edge, Phyter, Cactus, GForce, and Buster. They are great rides but if uploaded today they'd probably just be plain old high 7 rated tracks, whereas the ones today are almost just as good, but with the tools and whatnot they fail to meet the new standard.
