wow, isnt this old? anyway cant believe this didnt come to mind earlier, Cannobie Lake, 3 coasters all under 70 ft., one runs only 1 train with 3 PTC cars, one is 20 seconds long with two corks and sux, and one is a mouse like coaster, but hardly runs.
... yankee cannonball is one of the most airtime + lat filled (and smoothest) wooden rides anywhere.. how could it be bad? (and btw, it runs 2 trains) and galaxy has been open every time i've gone except for when they were doing repairs on it.
honestly, i like the small family owned theme parks better. and yes, canobie lake is a great example. the old and most of the time smaller theme parks have a certain charm that six flags and cedar point just dont have. and that's why i have to say that the worst park IMO is six flags great adventure.
the staff is terrible, the park is dirty, it's seemingly all pavement and has virtually no beauty to it. there's nowhere to just sit and relax. i hate the park. the only thing good there are the coasters... which i feel bad for because they're good rides in a bad park.
...BUT the absolute worst park EVER in the history of mankind is the enchanted forest in hopkington (exeter?) rhode island. I said sfgadv was the worst because it's the worst real park. the enchanted forest is owned by rockwell amusements which is a carnival company. so it's because all of its rides (with the exception of mabey 3) are carnival transportable rides, i don't qualify it as a real park.
but here's why its bad: when i was little, my mom took me there a few times and it was nice. it was family owned then and had a certain charm to it. then rockwell bought the park, and now all the trees are gone. it's like a pile of rides in a clearing in the woods. all the trails are gone. you walk in the spaces between the fences around the rides. and here's my number one reason why the park sucks: I applied to work there last summer. I brought back my application and was greeted by an old man (70-ish) who was putting the rides together by hand. he told me to go into the office where there was an instruction manual and a baggie of spare parts that was left over from the construction of a ride ( the guy was looking up where they were supposed to go). i was greeted (at the office) by a man who had HALF A NOSE! it looked as if the other half had been cut off somehow. he had a bandaide on it so it may have been recent and healed a bit. i gave him the application and he said that they were only hiring for ride ops. he asked how old I was, and i said i can't be a ride op b/c i was 17 at the time (legally you have to be 18 in RI). he looked at me and said "well... you look old enough so you should be safe as long as nobody questions you. and in that case, you can just say your 18 and it'll be okay" right about then, i thanked mr 1/2 nose for his time and left. also, I found an article that the year before, a horse fell off their carousel because of poor maintenence. lol, you can't argue with that being the worst park!!! (all 4 of the employees at the time were of the "carney" type(old, vulgar and dirty))
HA! beat that!
