When i first registered there were always tons of replies in the forums, new tracks were constanly uploaded, and way more people rated them. Now all the uploads are junk, and barely anyone is rating, the high ratings for the week are really low, yesterday one the of highest rated coasters was a 4, Im just wonderin why this website is going downhill?
Or maybe, like almost all other sites. School is back in session and people dont have the same amount of time as say, during the summer or late spring?
As Real said there is usualy a slow period on pretty much all sites across the net around this time of year. However we do have a suprise in store [;)]
Adding to Real's comment, I rather have less higher rated coasters uploaded, than more lower rated coasters. I think some people are just holding out for the update, I know for the most part I am. I only have 1.5 or less hours a day to myself between 6 hours of school, 3 hours of soccer, 2 or more hours of homework and other tasks inbetween.
Wouldn't be much of a surprise if they told you, would it? As always, the whole coaster community seems to slow at this time due to school begginning, it will prolly quicken up by around December though, but not too much.
I think most people are using NL and RCT. NL 1.5 will release soon, and it won't take that long anymore before RCT3 releases too. I think the good builders will start building again [:)]!
By the way... if you want to know how many tracks/parks are uploaded after an update comes out, take for example the NL 1.3 update from April 2003. Within 3 weeks, 75% of the members with medals posted new wood coasters. Some of them weren't necessarily that great because they were made so quickly, but quantity wise it was the time with the most tracks posted and the highest # of rates. Still, this time frame did give birth to Shaker and Thrasher, so it's all good. Just wait, and pretty soon you will see prosperity return to the online gaming world. The activity always picks up during Christmas and the Winter/Spring/Summer seasons.
BTW, this isn't the only site having serious inactivity... Coastersims.com has been spiraling downward even worse. They only got 23 total uploads a couple weeks ago, and only one track on the whole site had enough ratings to even qualify for a medal. So, don't feel bad about WWS.com, because it's not just this site that is suffering from inactivity.
Then I should rate more tracks. But I get bored of the same "this is wrong, that is wrong" routine. I have designing problems of my own, but unfortunatly, mose peeps can't help me with that. I'm just going to have to devote hours of smoothing to a track and hope for the best. Wait, I keep forgeting to go learn how to use those formulas. [sillyme]
