What do you think is a realistic waiting time for loading/unloading for a wooden coaster?

Loading AND Unloading ... together? How fast can you get people out (clear the platform) -- get folks in, secure the restraints, and give the thumbs up to release the train? At least two minutes when you combine both man ... at a minimum! Do we really need a poll on this?

NO way anyone gets a train out in less than 60 seconds from the gates opening to releasing the brakes ... no way.
Sometimes the best thing to say is nothing at all.

If you were trying to be coy, don't, it is insulting.
You asked a simple question and you got the whole answer. Again, think about the last ride you were on. Were you able to watch the folks get out, then you get in, have the ride ops check the restraints, and release in less than 60 seconds? I don't think so.

I say 35-40 seconds, which is about the loading and unloading time combined for Coaster @ Playland. The train comes into the station, and while its slowing down the ride ops release the buzzbars, and people are virtually all out of the train when the coaster comes to a complete stop. Then it rolls up to the loading area of the station, you hop in, the restraints are lowered and your off in just about 20 seconds after getting into the train. So 35-40 seconds is definitely a realistic and possible loading/unloading time.

I've seen ops at Knoebels hit 20-25 second stop-brake release times all day long on Phoenix. Of course, that's an ideal setup. No seatbelts, and the buzzbars. On Twister, which has the standard modern PTCs (but no seatbelts), 30-40 seconds is typical.

If ya got seat belts to check...its well over a minute without question. Also depends on the park...some are more staunch than others.

If its Ghostrider at KBF, you better give it about 10 mins or so.:) I'd say around 1 min. being reasonable, 40 seconds is rare and only found at the best of parks.

So does 50 seconds sound realistic with no seatbelts?

Badler at LiseBerg had two trains, and the unloading process took longer time than the coaster.

Depends entirly on the coaster e.g. The length of the track, the block positioning, type of coaster etc. You cant expect a flying coaster to be realesed in under a minute due to the time it takes to lower and lift the seats. Also ride ops have to check each restraint individualy to make sure it is secured, so if your riding a B&m 4 accross it would take longer than other coasters, although saying that the 2 seater trains are usualy longer. So basicaly there is loads of variables from coaster to coaster on loading and unloading, so it is hard to tell

well, sros @ sfne can load and unload a train in about a minuite. it's a minuite and 40 second long ride, and they always have you waiting in the station for nearly a minuite before the block is clear for you to go. so, since sros has lap bars and seatbelts, and steel coasters take longer to load / unload, i think a minuite or les id perfectly realistic for wooden rides. (and wooden rides hold less riders than steel coasters)

Hmm I am not sure about that C992001, have you ridden it since this summer? There are lap bars, seatbelts for those and then individual seatbelts. It take a while to check all of those. Plus it take about 15-20 seconds for all riders to leave the station. From what I remember, the ride staff were still checking seatbelts when the second train was on the final brakes.

Based on experience, it takes 60 seconds on average for most coasters. Classic coasters load faster, but most woodies aim for a one minute load time.

well, there's 2 totally different things from NL and real life. You have to remember that you don't want you people sitting in block brake for a couple of minutes just for the feel of realism. If it's a short track, then just hold the train in the station in for a couple of seconds after the train stops, but if you can easily get it to hold for 2 minutes, without making the rider get board, then go for it.

i said around 55 - 60 seconds. Im not sure about woodies though, but i know nemesis takes about 50 to 60 seconds and oblivion takes about 50 aswell. I didnt count air, that just takes around 90 to 120 secs if your lucky, lol. But as Edge said, you cant expect flying coasters to be released in under a minute.

I think most woodies are between 40 - 60 secs. Im not sure though.

It's boring not being violent
Sometimes you gotta sacrifice a little bit of yourself to get the job done.
