Can someone please tell me how the hell this ride works!

This is "Barnstorm", apparently its the new ride at Drayton Manor, but this is the first I have heard of it. I can't provide a link, cus this computer is crap, but if you go to RCDB, just click on "new for 2005" and its the first one on the list. I would just like to know what the hell is going on with it [lol]

I mean, how does it work?

Ouch that looks painful but fun at same time the straight long track must be the station .

This is a Maurer "X-car coaster". They have an new restraint system, allowing the cars to be upisde down for an extended periode of time. This means they can get many new designs:) Looks very crazy. After what I heard there is plans to extend Sky-wheel if it turn out to be good.

After the statiopn at Barnstorm you see a vertical peace of track. I think that's the lift. Since it can handle longer inversions the lift can be shaped more like a half loop. Must be a crazy feeling!

It looks pretty cool, It'll be the best thing there when its built becuase u know, DM isn't exactly the best park is it [lol] and IMO, they've taken away what was the best ride there anyway, "klondike's gold mine" I loved that, that was well fun.....Shockwave being pretty crap and all

More info here: http://www.maurer-soehne.de/en/Amusemen ... /X-Car.htm

It's possible to include a drifting function in the coaster cars. I guess that feels very strange[;)] :http://www.maurer-soehne.de/en/Amusement/Xtended_Rides/Rollercoaster/X-Car/Drifting_Car.htm

Well that sure is an intresting layout, i really cant see how it works or even figure out which way the train goes. Fo' sho' that layout cant be right, it just physicaly doesnt seem to work, let alone theres no station and the lift is not tall enough to prove enough GP to get it round the track, unless its a lsm of course

The layout is right. The long straight section will be the station, looking at the pic the train leaves the station towards the left, drops down while curving left.
The lift is on the half-loop looking elenent, on top of which the train will be upside down ( -1g) and drop fown the other half of the half-loop. The sharp hill is also designed to provide -1g airtime and the next element is a "cuban eight", known from aerobatic shows.

Looks great for drayton manor. I agree with gouldy, it's one of the not best local parks to have. Although i would have to say that i dont think shockwave is that bad. i quite like it, although it's too short
