i'm not starting an argument, i just cant help but wonder why snoop dogg and all of these other rappers are getting famous? they dont have talent and most of their songs sound the same?! i dont get it. and all of their songs are about naked women, sex with women, killing people, being shot at, shooting at people, drugs, or there's the classic "dam i got caught cheating on my girlfriend, why is she mad" theme. rap these days is doing nothing good for society! yes, rap can be good, but what's popular is imo very not good [;)][:)]

when it first came out, i thought the radio was playing a really old song, but then i heard modern rappers and honestly, it sucks. I like rap because of the beat but the lyrics are horrible (What's happening by yingyang twins, nice beat but the lyrics are about fighting and shooting with a lot of deragotory terms). I agree with coaster992001, rap usually doesnt send positive messages.

i dont like the beats eather, they're all too simmilar. there's hardly any origionality in rap these days. if you want to hear a truly origional rapper, go get a nelly mcay (macai? mca-kaie?) cd. she's good [;)]

Somewhere the producers of Run DMC are shaking their heads wondering what they started .... and "WHY" they started it.

^ lol, I think rap is good, like Get Low's pretty good, most people don't pay much attention to the words, although they sing it, but they don't pay attention to the meaning, they just dance along.

Rap is so awesome, when im crusing down the PCH smoking some blunts screwing fats chicks and shooting at whatever passes the windows, i always listen to some Snoop Dawg or some P.Diddy, it also gives me the complusive disorder to type like a retard fo' sho' nigga, and say nigga alot!

In other words some rap isnt all to bad...to laugh at, bu stuff like 50 cent is a joke! Run DMC and the original rappers were cool, now we have all this urban rap which plain sucks. It takes minimal talent to produce and most of the artists never graduated school, but yet they are better off then people with PHD's, i think the whole rap scene has turned into a joke

I am a 90% rap listener and 10% other stuff listener. I pretty much enjoy most of it. I am picky though and hate the stuff by 50 cent and foo's who can't rap. I think the rappers who set the foundation are the best ones and keep on setting new levels in it. There are exceptions though where some do excel into the good rap, the word good is not a good choice but I meant to say that there are some newer rappers that are dope in their rap game and can hang with the original starters and then you have your wanna be's...

basically why i dont like rap, well im still young, and i grew up thinking rap is the "sex cuss guns cuss naked chick drugs gun" kind, and that stuff i hate. Alot of older rap isn't to bad, some newer stuff has good beats (headsprung-ll cool), and the only stuff i can stand is the kind you hear at sporting events (yeah-usher, i like that-houston). Other then that, it sucks. Also i hate rap because of what it does to school age children these days. Well i see 6 yr old's in gangsta iverson jsy's with due (howevery you spell it) rags, and have $.50 cranked, and they cuss every other sentence. If rap didn't put such a negative effect on people, i wouldn't mind it, and mabye enjoy it.

I pretty much share the same sentiments as Edge...

Run DMC was great, but now everything just seems so unoriginal...

But I don't listen to rap much...if at all...Just hard core rock n' roll for me...and Linkin Park is absolutely not good rock n' roll.... ;)

Yo! Werd up G-Homie Dawgg! Dis be off da heezie fo' sho' up in hee-ah!

I ditto that sentiment. This isnt a racist comment, but honestly, majority of the african american population just wants to be recognized as equals. I myself do, but, I do find it hard to recognize some of them as "humans" in the sense of "being educated".

These days, sure, alot of the inner city public school systems are not that great. Not many good teachers want to work in that environment. But it seems like one out of maybe 10 black children ever grow up to talk good english and be responsible, law abiding citizens.

I understand alot of families are just plain poor and barely make it from day to day, but it seems like too many give up, stop trying and just let it all go. Then complain when things are bad. Ive seen the stories of the kids who beat the odds and its always the ones who dont give up and dont stop trying. The only way IMO that these families will rebound is by breaking from the old habits (dealing with the crime, having 100 kids and other bad choices) and moving forward. AGain, not all are like this, I know many who arent and then even some who do wish to get out of that pattern, but it just bothers me when they complain and so many of them had chances, maybe slim chances, or bleak chances, but like most people (black or white) they want the easy way out.

The easy way out never leads to the road of prosperity. I always applaud those people who start from the bottom and work their way to the top, without cheating and lieing. It can be done, it just requires some work.

Alot of this though applies to many caucasions as well...People need to just get up and make things happen instead of sittin around. It may suck and not get much quick in the beginning, but you can work your way out with enough determination.

In the end, I just wish people would talk smarter. Which, is getting hard to ask of Americans because our slang is KILLING the english language. You know its SAD when majority of the outer countries speak BETTER english than the largest english speaking nation in the world...
