Is there somewhere where we can see our designer ratings or do we have to ask you?

Take the first ride you won a medal with.

Then, take all your tracks after that for that single sim. Take all of their numbers (including the one you first won a medal with) and add them up. Then divide by the number of tracks you added together.

"
CJD -
basically, starting with your first medal-winning track in the given sim, (I didn't want to penalize anyone for their inevitebly low-scored original tracks), every single track you have uploaded to the exchange is averaged. That's your designer rating."

just be patient... I am about 3/4 done with the per sim medal count. Check back on Thursday, and they will all be posted on the forums.

if it was a really good track, than people would have rated it. Once you have won a weekly medal, there is no excuse for your coasters not getting rated... you have already proven that you have the skill to make a great track. The only exception to this rule would be if the track had 0 downloads.

This is not really true, because quite some time ago the exchange was totally reset, leaving some of my old tracks with no rating at all. Without counting the non-rated track I have an average rating of a 8,7 with the 0's counted that is a 7,1. That is quite a difference... this is something probably more member have and overall I don't think counting 0's is a good idea...

Because it starts at your first medal, that won't matter because you didn't get any medals before those tracks.

I think though GFA, if you have been around and your known for good tracks, your reputation will surpass the "rating" you have at the moment. I think its cool and a nifty idea, but your reputation (goes for anything) will surpass your ratings if you are that well liked.

Actually, GFA, the reset in the exchange that occoured in February 2003 will not be affecting anyone's ratings, because it occoured a month before this website started giving out weekly medals. Therefore, all of the tracks that were rated up until March 2003 will not have an impact on anyone's score. Your first medal-winning coaster was "Hurricane", and you don't have a single zero after that.

BTW, the per sim medal count is about 85% done. I took a little break to finish Ultimate Nightmare, but now it is almost done. I will post either tomorrow or Sunday.

My bad, didn't read you started counting from the first medal winning track. [shocked]

well, now I have decided to erase zeros from the per sim count altogether as to keep people from trying to get old tracks deleted just to up their ratings. I should have just listened in the first place...

The medal count has just been updated to include the weeks of 9/4, 9/11, and 9/18. The top ten looks alot different than last time (r.i.p., WWS and IF397...), so be sure to check it out.

Now updated to include the weeks of 9/25 through 10/23. Be sure to check out the changes that have occoured in the last month.

BTW, I am sorry about the per sim medal count. To be honest, I have not workeded on it at all since I decided to remove the 0's from the ratings. My college schedule has turned hectic with mid-term exams and all, and I have barely found enough time to work on my coaster projects, let alone 6 medal lists. I probably won't be able to finish the per sims until Christmas Break. Sorry about that.

yay, I've got 4, but they're all from scream machines. I haven't used SM for about half a year. I should get back to putting my rides on this site, since my skills with Nolimits, SM, and AutoCAD for 3ds have improved. Hopefully, you guys will be seeing another medal winner from me soon. My new top secret nolimits coaster that i've been working on for months is going to amaze you guys (hopefully ).[8D]

Y is that? Because you don't have any medals? No everyone is a idiot. If it's because you don't have any medal, try for other sim's like Scream machines or rct2. Or you can try to work on your skills and try to get a medal. If your a starter with NL you just can't win the first, best medal that will be awarded. Your medals will come. It will take a while before you can earn one.

Yeah i know what you mean Dirk. I have been on this website a year now, and i have only just entered the medal list, with 3 medals. Take a look at my first track Bandit. It scored 5.33 or something like that. Then take a look at my latest coaster Archaic. It scored 8.5 and is in the top 5 of last week. This happens with evryone on the site. I bet you will even see a major improvement in people like G Force Addict or Bobcoaster, whos every single track seems to be great. If you keep at nolimits, you get used to it, with every track you make, you improve.
