we do need some help, we need someone mature, responsible, time efficient and true dedication to this website with a mind set for the things we have in mind for the site in the future. So getting another moderator is hard. We have someone in mind but yet that person seems to have the problem we do, lack of time. No offense but you are too controversial [lol] But we would have to look into you further though and are you really 18, or not? We need truthful people as well as being a mod gives you access to powers over the site you wouldn't think of.

I know I shouldn't say this as it is a common thing on most message boards that those who ask to become a moderator usually don't get picked, but if you don't find anyone that fits your criteria, I would be more than willing to volunteer my time for this site. I have lots of experience moderating message boards (even one with more than 11000 members ;) )

Umm, I guess I should have PM'd that to you but oh well, lol.

well, i'm mature (i can be, i'm goofy a lot) responsible, time efficient, and i'm not in school at the moment, and i'm between jobs... which always end up being part-time so i have tons of time. i'm on this website for a couple hours at least every day.and yes, i'm really 18 (just turned 18 in october!) but i agree, i'm rather controversial lol.. as a moderator i'd try to stay out of things unless i absolutally have to but in, but now since i'm nobody special i just say whatever my opinion is at the time. but i'd feel weird just taking on responsibility as a moderator all of a sudden. mabey i can be like... co-moderator or something? i can just help out around the site and get used to it and see if i can actually do it or not because i honestly have no idea how much work it is. but if i'm just looking after the complaint forum, i can handle that easily.

coaster992001,
There's no such thing as a co-moderator. It's either the full blown thing or nothing at all. We are serious in needing a new moderator to help out with this load. Look, this is posted in our staff forum in getting a group of mods, sectioned up mods, this mod only does this, this other mod only does that. It takes me about 2 hours alone in the administrative duties of this site. That does not include rating etc. Ratings, reviewing topics and what not takes a good amount of time. That is why we need someone reliable willing to takew the responsibility of keeping the people happy and under control with a little gap to let human nature take its course in the occasional forum fights etc. You know, good judgement of things. Also we have been approached by a big name lately that the staff know nothing about, yet, which is taking even more time for me. I am up till 3-4 in the morning working on this site to meet the demands from these external people. SO I am overbooked for the forum/rating duties. I took the time to take care of thsoe two pages quickly and not detailed viewing as I normally would though. Anyway with that said I have lost my track of thinking cuz I am thinking of the other things I need tyo be doing [lol]

I have lots of experience moderating message boards (even one with more than 11000 members ;) )

Are you currently a moderator of such board or any other board?

You know the moral of this topic? STOP COMPLAINING! I mean is there any need to complain about a rating that has a only a sentance? No! So think before you post, are the mods and admins gonna b happy with all this extra work im giving them....[lol] But seriously...[lol]...

I am on this site at least 2-3 if times a day, if not more, and I am always checking out nearly all of the forums so helping with them would'nt be a problem. The flip-side is that I am only 14, which may be young, but I am mature for my age. Maybe making one of those moderator applications again WWS? (that is if time provides) One way or another I hope this issue is solved. BTW, FN, what site(s) did you or are you moderating at?

If you need a moderator in around 4 years time im your man. Im guessing you HAVE to be over 18! Im 14 at the mo, and when im not doing schoolwork, or out with my m8s, i am normally on this site, or making a new track for this site on nolimits. Just contact me in 4 years and i'll be happy to do it! lol

I just love the way everybody constantly sucks up to weeweeslap and his cronies when he has a mod application coming. No offence but im trying to say this nicely as possible, if you want to moderate a forum like its going to be very tough! I moderate a forum with a couple of hundre members and you get alot of spammers and crap. Constantly changing topic!, deletions!, bans!, Very hard for me so dont think of counting me in! Not that you would anyway

I am not trying to suck off, I am trying to help out. Jeez, and everyone wonders why there arent enough kind, out-going and kind-hearted people. Possibly because they are shot down before they get a chance to shine or make a change.

Might I recommend as someone who has moderation experience (and probably one of the oldest people on this site) ... a site this huge and a task this big is pretty daunting and you need to look in the mirror and be honest. If you cannot be fair and level headed, you should not mod .... just something to think about.

Matt ... well said -- no offense even remotely suggested, IMO. If someone took offense, then their maturity level is pretty well identified.

^ I remember what happened last time when you mod. People got scared of you, and started running around and pretended to be God and Jesus. But yeah, TC's got my vote for mod, if you ever need one.
Err, I wish I could be mod, but I'm sure you know why I couldn't be mod [:(]

I'd say put Tcon and Coaster in as mods and give them their own section of the forum to mod just between the 2 of them, I would love to see the aftermath of that.
EDIT* Typo, apparently I wanted them to have their own sectionf, which just doesnt seem to make much sense.

now THAT would be cool! i agree with e-man! lol, just kidding.. i'd be glad to help out, but as i said, i dont know anything about moderating so i dont know if i'd be any good at it. but i do have the time for it.

and btw... we seemed to have a good amount of mods for a while, but what happened to them? or did the site just get too big for the amount of mods we have?

shortkid was like, just dropped in without guidance, an error on our part and the site slowed down a lot then too so we let him go. But now it's slow too, but we are too tied up in other things where we do need a lending hand.

I'd be more than happy to help out... I have already contributed quite a bit to this site, and I am more than willing to put in the extra effort. I am in college, so I spend about half of the day on my computer already. However, if not, then I would strongly reccomend TConwell as he is one of the most mature people on this site.

why not open an application forum, where any one who is intereted in becoming a moderator can apply. Telling you how much experience time and effort they have, that way people who would like the roll can show interest without looking pushy.

I would like to, but I prefer to go after the ones we have observed to be good and who would be an asset based on their presense here. I have approached one and that user denied the offer, now I am currently offering it to another and waiting to see what staff says [:)]

Whatever is best for the site ... as long as it grows and produces ... as apparently it has been for quite a number of years, eh? CJD does certainly have lots of time spent into the site, IMO. :-)

I'd say CJD would be a great choice for mod, since as he already stated he has done a lot for the site already, and you can be sure hed put time into it as he has for the medal count and all, Tcon would be a good choice as well, or perhaps IntaminFan, he seems like a good choice for mod as well.
