i'm no screamer but i'm more a 'WHOOER' + the hands up of course. On the lame coasters i stay always quiet. Cause i can't enjoy then[;)]

Hands in the air, laughing my head off and the occasional Woo for good measure. Unless its a smaller coaster, in which case its more like hands in the air with less laughing.

I ditto Edge. hollering, whooing, enjoying the ride. Only when I am physically abused on a ride do I say anything to the Ops, or when they ask how my ride was will I give the double thumbs down or yell "it was crap!!"

On smaller rides, I stay quiet and enjoy the peace, if there's any, since other riders seem to be screaming for no reason, lol. As for more intense rides, I get a bit noisy and make "AH!"'s on surprises, usually on a zipper, like when it suddenly flips you over and the -g's are making oyu disorientated.

As for TTD, on the end of the brake run, I get so excited like veryone else. Man, I'd beter put my arms up next time I catch airtime on that thing.

Man ... I had to read this topic three times (think about it) ... "are you a screamer" ...

[lol]

I am more of a woohoo'er, especially on the drops.
Hands NEVER, let me repeat myself, NEVER touch the restraints or bars, period.

Same for me. Only when i have 2 close my restraint i have 2 touch it[:D]. For the whole fun part of the ride my hands up in the air and for the rest i keep my hands on my knees, like on the lifthill. Even on thrill rides i keep my hands up in the air[:P] Like on top scans, giant frisbee, boosters, etc...

Hands up doesnt mean anything to me anymore. It doesnt prove you can handle it any better than anyone else. In fact, I find hands up actually detracts from the forces, since most people in order to keep their hands up have to devote alot of strength and focus to keeping them up. It also tenses up the body (which you cant avoid) and that in turn will lessen the effects of a ride.

Next time, on a ride like Dragster or other ride with quick acceleration or higher G's, sit with hands just resting on lap or something, not holding, and RELAX. try to relax and go as limp as possible. The G's will act on you way more, giving a pretty heightened experience.

I agree with Real, although i do put my hands up on most rides, it doesnt rally do anything for me, its no differenet than holding on....but the big exception to this i feel is Nemesis. Going round that with your hands up is pretty insane, you fly around your seat and really feel the G force.

Ack, i hate to say this Real [lol], but the limp theory is wrong. We recently went over this in Physics class. By making your body limp, you increase the impact time, which is inversly proportional to the force, and therefore the force you feel being limp will be less. So in fact, if you tense up because your scared on a ride you will probaly be more at risk to the forces. However i do agree that being limp on a ride (err) can also enhance the ride....and TConwell i was trying to make that as least sexual as possible, but you know

I usually make crazy noises like "wibblywooooooo" and shout things like "Blinty Blist" or "I hate chavs!" because obviously everyone hates chavs ey Edge?

Nah, with me it depends what the ride is like I guess, but also, who I'm with. If the ride is proper crap, then usually I'd scream sarcastically and pretend I that had contracted tourettes (how the hell do you spell that!? lol) If the ride was sweet, then I'd usually just put my hands in the air and see what happened, if that entailed screaming then I would scream, if not, then I would be quiet [:)]

Real -- opinions vary, eh? But, I said my hands never touch the restraints or bars, not that they were up in the air the whole time. Dirk said that. Personally, on quick acceleration rides, I agree that hands on my lap work best. However, I will say that a woodie requires the hands in the air ... it just adds to the tossing around (that would be lats for the un-knowing) in the car.

Edge - ya, I know you were trying ... but, ya know ... [lol]

^ peronally, i like to scream as high pitched as I can, I also like to squeel and kick.
But on rides like Xcelerator, I'll scream, but its more of an AUUgggg! Ghost Rider its more of a whoo! And on Psyclone its more of an "ouch, poop, crap, what the hell?"
and on kiddy rides, I like to scream, and hold on to the kids, and the kids look back at you, and then you wink at them, then they run off, and you get scolded by security guards. Good times.

for me it matters what ride and who im with. Im alyways at a park with another person, so that's not real important. I also maners who else is on. On lame rides i scream abnoxiously just to piss people off. On alot of B&M rides and if im with one other guy we wait and try to get on a ride with two hott girls [;)], then i try not to be a complete idiot. Of course every ride i keep my hands up the whole time. I also love scaring people by going up the lift talking with the other person im with "I hope this train doesn't fly off like it did yesterday" I usually dont scream on the good rides and just give out a Whooooooooo sometime. I rarley cuss on rides except Storm Runner's -g's in the barrel roll caught me off guard and i remember shouting something bad. I rarley talk to the ride op's unless i know them. Sometimes i try to give the op a high five on the way out, especally if it's a young lady op like alot of them that work weekends at Hershey [;)].
