Title says all, which movies did you reall dislike?

For me, Day After Tomorrow! For the simple reason it is 100% BS. We have all seen the wide spread devestation caused by a 30ft Tsunami in Asia, but yet New York survives a wave that is as tall as the statue of liberty. Lets not forget that the statue of liberty is 300ft tall, now that is 10x tall than the one in Asia, yet not a single building collapsed.

I'm also guessing this movie was wrote by a complete an utter moron. First off the writers seem to think it is possible to pull air down from the upper atomosphere which then becomes super cooled as it reaches ground level. The main problem with this theory however is why would air from a low concentration move to where there is a high concentration, and furthermore by bringing the air down from a low concentration to a high concentration would generate heat due to a greater number of collisions between particles. The whole film to me is a joke.

Harry Potter films. Theyre so cheesy its unbelievable. The books are good, but I just can't see the attraction of the films. The third one was a little better, but the first 2 are quite possibly the worst I've seen. (That I can think of right now).

On a side note, go see House of Flying Daggers. Went to see it last week and its unbelievably good!

All films that aren't of the comedy variety because films are a pointless waste of time so minyah!

Films I particularly hate:
Harry Potter Films (just crap and poop)
Lord of the rings films (what the hell? the point of these films was to make my butt ache, can you believe theres a special EXTENDED dvd)
Anything with Mr. "I AM THE LAW" in it. (can't stand his voice)
Anything made predominantly by Americans (except Adam Sandler films or American Pie)
Anything made in France (Obvious really ..... Frogs)

The list goes on, but i'd end up covering just about every film that ever existed [;)] so I'll stop there.

Sequals. I don't mind trilogies and movies that were intended to have more than one part, but I mean great movies that are ruined by money-hungry hollywood producers that make a crappy second movie with no storyline and the over-used antics of the first movie to try and double their money. The only sequals I like are the ones like Spiderman 2... a bigger, better version of the original.

BTW, Edge, the super-cooled air theory in The Day After Tomorrow is based on the fact that the winter storm is like a hurricane. The air pressure in the eye is extremely low, meaning that cold air from the mid-atmosphere is being drawn to the extremely low pressure in the eye. The storm would have to be extremely strong, about 750 millibars of pressure to do it, but it is technically possible. However, this kind of pressure would mean that it would have to be 2.5 times stronger than the most intense hurricane on record. (892 millibars is the current record for a hurricane.) Okay, so it is very, very, very, very, very unlikely, but it is scientifically possible.

Well, maybe if you didn't have the attention span of a criket, they would. How dare a movie require you to *gasp* pay attention.

Um, Tyler, my attention spam has been in place for about 12 years longer than yours, and the entire LOTR series sucked, period. Sure, there is some cool fighting scenes and what have you in them (I have sat through all three), but come on ... elves and dwarves and fairytale beings? Didn't Snow White and Peter Pan and Mother Goose already cover that territory?

These movies were good for spending lots of money on effects of course, but as far as calling the series as a legend in it's time I think the first three Star Wars (Episode 4-5-6 for those not paying attention) has successfually spanked that thought out of existence.

I hate the films which have the people speaking, but then a voice is recorded over the top so the voice doesnt go with the picture. It is when they are translated. If you ever get one of the Harry Potter DVD's, try it in japanese, it looks well funny!!!!!!!lol

I'm sorry, but if that sentence doesn't prove how stupid and crap Harry Potter is, then I don't know what will.

I particularly didn't like anger management, and elf. They were quite boring.

Saw that, ok I guess.

As for The harry potter movies, they were ok too.

And for now, I can't recall any good movies I've seen.

Well, TConwell, with all due respect, you are very wrong in my opinion. And I'll tell you why.

The Lord of The Rings series is excellent. Who ever said that movies had to be realistic or plausible? The visuals in the movies are beautiful, and the action scenes are unlike any other film. We've all seen the standard Hollywood battle, ie Gladiator or Braveheart...the action sequences in LOTR are totally different...it's not just a series of half-second camera angles of limbs flying, while the viewer has no idea who is doing what, but they direction of the scenes in LOTR are much more tasteful, because they are not the centerpieces of the films. The real greatness comes from the in between scenes, because the story is just so great. The events that these characters are involved in are sometimes funny, sometimes sad, and always entertaining and inciteful. It's not the battles that make these films great, but the way the stories are told and how we experience all of the different events of the characters. These films are also particularly beautiful...the grand vistas that are portrayed are just wonderful.

The acting and script are both better than in the original Star Wars movies, yet I still find the Star Wars films more entertaining.

And it should be a given that The Return of the King was too long, and did get a bit boring and sappy near the end...

No offense to anybody, but just a topic for debate....

And for movies I don't like...

Rush Hour 2....and I thought the first one was bad

If I can think of some more I'll be sure to post them...

McFly ... opinions are like hearts, everyone has one. No debate from me on this, your points are valid from your own experiences and how you see it ... but from mine considering the script is loaded with fairytale beings that could have come from any 80's Dungeons and Dragons weenie; the movies still sucked, period, end of discussion from me. Sorry, no bait to bite onto here.

I'm not trying to bait you...but my opinions are much like many other movie critics,' who see films for a living...

And Star Wars is as much a fairy tale as anything...except they use lasers.

I can understand your opinion, but I think it's a little closed-minded. And though I do really like these movies, I'm not sure I'd willingly watch Return of the King again...and I can't imagine the 4+ hour extended version...

Honestly man, I'm not sure how much movie going experience/knowledge a teenager has, but ok man, if you can live with classifying yourself as having that much knowledge -- so can I, I guess. Personally though, I prefer to have my own opinions and stand on them, rather than vaguely referencing a movie critic who just like you, has an opinion .... except of course they were paid to published it thus making it available for others to side with.

Well, you know the Lord of the Rings books basically created the whole fantasy/D&D scene, right? Oh, and for what it's worth, most of my other favorite movies were made before 1970, so I'm hardly some special effects weenie.

As Tyler said the Lord of The Rings where published in 1954, so it was very original at it's time. And I think Peter Jackson has made three amazing movies out of the book. The Atmosphere in the movies is great, and the visuals are amazing. The fight scenes are good, but no reason to see the films. It's the rest that make them good.

I realy hate the matrix Reloaded and Revolutions. Same with King Arthu and The Day After Tomorrow. This films are made only to earn some dollars, and is pure crap.

Killing Zoe is another movie I hate. This movie wants to be a cool Tarrantino movie, but it's just bad!

I have to agree with Edge in that The Day After Tomorrow is one of the worst films i've ever seen. However, that site is a little bit reductionist dont you think? A movie is a movie, not an analysis of physics and realism. Granted, if a film came out called "an analysis of astrophysics through the eyes of a really pedantic twat" ou'd expect that, but it's reading into it a little too much imo.

For example, all the stuff on spiderman is rediculous. Okay, so his webs wouldn't be able to support his wieght. Hmm i see, but the idea of getting bitten by a radioactive spider and inheriting all it's talents is perfectly feasible. It's all, to quote joey from friends "a bit of a moo point"
