I love both Shawshank and THe Green Mile. It's impossible to pick one of the,. Amazing movies.

I don't see how it's possible to say The Day after Tomorrow is one of the best movies ever made.

I think you'd better get out. Day After Tomorrow is one of the worst films ever made full of Patriotic garbage... 110% Predictable and plain boring. Any else find it funny that some guy decides to treck across America in blizzard conditions to save his sun, yet when he finaly arrives everything is fine and there was no need for him to go to NY after all, only so the dickheads at Hollywood could make a happy ending. Why couldnt they have spiced it up and showed the wolves tearing apart some more people, which also brings me to the case on why where the wolves chasing the main character when there is thousands of dead bodies scattered around the city?

Well, the movie was not good, but I wouldn't go so far as call it one of the worst films....it did have some cool special effects.

Same here...though to me the Green Mile slightly edges out the Shawshank Redemption IMO.

Not even close for me...The Shawshank Redemption is a classic film, and one of the ten best films of its decade. A near masterpiece, even....The Green Mile is good, but it's no where near as emotionally powerful as Shawshank.

Uh-oh ... twice in one year.

The Green Mile (I just watched it again last night here) ... was a wonderful movie, no doubt. However ... Shawshank (now I am gonna have to watch it tonight) is the pinnacle of Tim Robbins career - not too mention Morgan Freeman's role ... to me, that belongs in the hall of fame of movies.

Yeah, Morgan Freeman is a great actor...he can make pedestrian stories into good movies...can't wait to see Million Dollar Baby in a couple weeks.

Wasn't The Shawshank Redemption a flop in the boxoffice? Thats what someone told me and i couldnt believe it, considering that all those crappy movies out there are making millions of dollars and The Shawshank Redemption didnt do well at all when it came out is a damn shame and shows the bad taste that alot of people seem to have with movies.

I'd say:

Finding Nemo
Silver Bullet
Beverly Hills Cop 3 (PGA is in it)

Just rented Taxi Driver, and I just have to say, I highly recommend this movie to anybody...what an excellent piece of filmmaking...great insight into the main character's downward spiral...just great.

I wasn't that impressed by Taxi Driver. It was good but nothing that great. I was also very dieseapointet by Mean Streets. I think the later Scorsesse pictures are bether. My favorits are Goodfellas and Raging Bull. But I have only seen Taxi Driver and Mean Streets once each. Maybe I should watch them again;) And I'm looking forward to The Aviator and I hope Scorsesse finally get an academy awards

I really want to see Taxi Driver on DVD now, since my local videostore that I frequent had only the tape version...DeNiro's performance is just excellent, and the ambience throughout the entire film is just great...

And I STILL haven't seen Raging Bull, as the same place has neither the DVD or VHS...

Raging Bull is one of Scorsesses best pictures. Only Goodfellas is bether. DeNiros performance is as always great;) But Taxi Driver is maybe his best part except the Godfather part two.

Today I saw 12 Angry Men. A clissic and a movie I would higly recommend. A few days ago I saw The Boondock Saints and Toy Story 2. Both are great movies. Toy Sotry 2 is IMO the third best CGI film, after Shrek and The Incredibles.

Well, I bought the 25th Anniversary Collector's Edition of Raging Bull, which came out on DVD last Tuesday, and watched the film, and I can't explain how great this movie is. It surely isn't for everyone, especially not for people who wouldn't understand it/or couldn't pay attention to the symbolism and themes which pervade this masterpiece, but this is also one of the most beautiful films ever made. Maybe not as thoroughly enjoyable as Goodfellas, but this is definitely Scorcese's masterpiece and DeNiro's best role.

I think Raging Bull is an amzing movie. The best Scorsesse film except Goodfellas. Love how Raging Bull is made. And its great that they actually made it in Black and White.

It's sixt sense[;)] Great movie. But you can't seriously mean The matrix serie? The first one is brilliant, but the sequels are pure crap imo.
