I recently learned my mom is having a nine day vacation coming July 3 or 4! My mom, dad, brother, and I have decided to hit Islands of Adventure, Universal Studios, Sea World, and Busch Gardens Tampa! I am really looking forward to this trip. And by the way are there any tips for making this vacation better?

What!!!!!!! I think you've got that the wrong way round. Ther are better coasters at Universal than Disney, well there were when i went but that was a long while ago. Although Rock n Roller coaster is supposed to be good. My fave ride when i went to that area was Journey to Atlantis, as i was to small for lots of the coasters and some werent even built!!!!

You are kiddin right? Ive been going to Disney since I was 14, Im 21 now. Ive been there I think 8 times in 7 years, and I live 18 hours away. Yes, my family are Disney freaks.

The only way Disney is better is when you can hit ALL the parks. And that my friend, to do in a GOOD, enjoyable time frame, is at least 2 weeks. He has 9 days. Plus, the only rides worth riding are scattered about the parks..You have 2 in MGM, 2 in Epcot, 2 maybe 3 in MK and 2 in AK.

I got to go to Universal and Islands of Adventure for my first time last year and LOVED it. Ill be going down to disney to visit my girl whos got an Internship there, and sure Ill spend time at the parks, but, Ill be buying a 2 day pass for Universal as well. I think my sister I crammed in like 12 rides on DD:Fire and 5 on DD:Ice. We also rode Spiderman 3 times and Hulk 5. I could ride those ALL Day. Way more fun than Ive had at Disney excluding when I have my girlfriend with me. Then the rest of Disney becomes fun to just walk around in, but if you want adrenaline, you wont get as much at Disney.

Yeah Real is totally right, i mean Disney is more stunning and has more amazing themeing and some decent rides, but Universal have probably the best inverted coaster in the world (excluding nemesis and alpengeist) the only B&M launcher! Amazing themeing, and............. I could go on forever!

I agree with 'Real' here, how can you say Universal is rubbish? What the hell are you smoking? ;-). Disney has some great rides but there more for the family where as universal is leaning towards the adrenaline junkies side a bit more.

disney's theming is kinda gay... ok really gay, you cant get any stupider than 'its a small world' or splash mountain' Jurrasic Park River Adventure and Dudley Do Rights Ripsaw Falls are both better than splash mountain imo

No matter how long the line is, ride Spider-man, it's worth a 4 hour wait. And use Express and single rider lines.

well, when i went, the rides sucked! jurrasic park was a lame excuse for a water ride. the audio animatronics were less complicated than the friggin carousel of progress. the themin was crap (the dinosaur's skin was peeling off!) and the drop was crap. also, the ride did not tell the story at all. the overall theme of the place felt too artificial. disney's theming is much much much more intricate and they take care of every single last detail. spiderman sucked. the hulk sucked (all positive g's and a very weak "launch") also, deuling dragons, although the theming is amazing and the ride is awesome, one good ride in a park is not enough to get me back.

also, disney has a way with rides. take "Dinosaur" in animal kingdom for example. little kids love it, teens love it, and adults love it! it's probably one of the most thrilling rides ever! same goes for space mountain. disney has truly familt rides. universal skipped that section and put in a kiddy land like every other park out there. universal imo is just like another six flags. except they have robots.

Spoken like a true Disney diehard ;) Just like my parents. They failed to see beyond the blinders they have on their eyes.

Dinosaur? Kids dont love it! Only those who brave it. I have seen many a kids come off in tears, sobbing like crazy. Plenty on other rides too. Dinosaur, whatever they market, is a teen-adult ride. The strobe lighting, animatronics and sound is enough to send a small kid into shock, let alone the cars movement.

But I find it rather shallow that you base a whole park on 1 ride. Your analyzation of Hulk reminds of all the analyst wannabe coaster nuts who thrashes any ride thats got positives and a "weak launch". Ive ranted on people like that a million times. I wont here, but I think you are just over analyzing, sucking all the fun out a good ride.

But if thats the case, every coaster at Disney sucks. The only real coaster with forces is RnRC and thats weak. Im so used to TTD, the launch feels like Im standing still. Does that mean that I hate on the ride? No. Its still a great ride. Frankly, Hulk had LOADS of airtime when I rode, The zero g, both loops and in some of the cobra I got massive hangtime. It was running rather fast too. Just sounds like you made up your opinion of Universal before you went in.

And btw, you cannot compare all of Disney to one Universal park. Thats like comparing an entire chain to one store. Not really wise.

(Trust me I love Disney, but you have to hit every park. Just one or 2 doesnt cut it to get the "Disney Experience" and thats not cheap)
