This is spoken by a person who knows nothing about playoff football:

Eagles win by 4 ... Steelers win by 3 (or at least that is what my bookie, Vinnie Boom-Ba, says [lol])

I was under the impression that there was already a thread based on the same subject...

Anyways....RCTfans, I think you are way off base with your Patriots/Steelers game prediction....the game is going to be a lot closer than that. There is no way either the Steelers or Patriots put up 40 points...were you living in a shell when the Colts could only get 3 on the Pats?? And the Colts offense is (somewhat arguably) better than that of the Steelers. I pick Patriots over Steelers, though it'll be close...I'll say 21-17. As for Eagles and Falcons, I'll take the Falcons. The Eagles have the worst run defense of any of the remaining teams in the playoffs (granted, there are only four of them), and Atlanta's game is based around the run game. Which is good for them, because they won't throw the ball as much in the snowy conditions that are predicted. Atlanta 27, Eagles 18....

I'll probably end up being extremely wrong, but that's my gut feeling.

And TC^, you're right...and despite the Steelers less-than-impressive play last week, they still have the advantage of home field again.

The weather worries me folks ... snow tomorrow ... hopefully that passes by Sunday or the all teams just got evened out by Mother Nature (and the cruelest of football gods who are laughing at me now). I am hoping last week is the fuel the Steelers need to realize that they CAN BE beaten and should desire to NOT BE beaten this week by the #2 team in the AFC. They need to play, not hope the Pats don't show up.

As much as Im not a Steelers fan, I dislike the Patriots more. I really, really hope they get crushed. I would love to see Brady and his boytoys cry.

Falcons Eagles? Hmm...I say Falcons, but either way Im happy. If NE does win, well, they better get smoked by Falcons or Eagles. Im all about the Pats being crushed!

And I am all about Real being Crushed

Pats over Steelers. The steelers do not have the long ball potential that will test the patriots secondary (which as been much improved since the two teams last met) leaving a few extra fired up defensive tackles (even though they have the flu) to work on the predictable Bettis run. The weather takes out the long ball for the Pats as well, but no one is better in miserable conditions right now then the pats. The Pats have a strong run game themselves against a defense that is not as good (but still formidable). The Pats do what they failed to do in the last meeting, control the clock and come out with a suprise victory, 17 - 7.

In the last playoff game, the Falcons looked hot, while the eagles looked like the "Chunky" washed up morons they are. The Falcons embarrass the Eagles with a repeat of last weeks slaughter.

Regardless of who wins either game, there is no way either the Eagles or the Falcons could possibly beat the Patriots or the Steelers. The NFC was just so weak this year, and neither team can stand up to the beating that the Pats and Steelers are able to dish out.

Still think the Pats take it all for the 3rd time in 4 years. Without a doubt one of the best all around sports TEAMS of all time.

I think you all need to remember the unfair equalizer that happened last night ... the temps are in low single digits with wind today ... snow has fallen ... these games will be played as close to the "frozen tundra" conditions as EITHER team has remotely faced this year. Truly, these will be games of strategy today.

And oh yeah, I almost forgot, I hate the Patriots and most especially Pretty Boy Tommy (who is the ONLY thing remotely going to the Hall of Fame from New England).

Would someone please make him eat his face guard today? Thank you.

I am not a Tom Brady fan either, I liked Drew Bledsoe much better. I still think Tom is better than Big Ben Worthlessfxxker.

And I am sure that Ty Law, Teddy Bruschi, Adam Vinateri and Corey Dillon have no shot at making it into the Hall of fame what so ever. And Bellicheck I am sure will never either.

Speaking of future hall of famers, the only Hall Jerome Bettis will most likely go to is the Chow Hall. The guy is starting to make William "Refridgerator" Perry look skinny. He must hang out with Shaq in the off season. Remember that commercial where Bubba Smith trades his game jersey with a kid in the tunnel for a coke? Bettis would trade his game bra instead. A no talent fatass that can run.

Ummm ... opinions vary I guess.

If this is some sort of sarcasm you failed to really pull it off -- those folks blow chunks and they have Brady to thank for even getting their names mentioned by some dude on a coaster board - as they sure have not earned any respect on their own. And that is proven even farther by ProBowl Nominations this year ... NONE you have listed are on there.

True, he has put it on a bit ... but then again I cannot remember it slowing him down in the last 4 months. I am guessing you are a Pats fan though ... wait a second ... let's count ProBowl nominations this year. 6 for Pittsburgh ... 4 for New England (and one of them is Brady and another is the placekicker (ya know, the girly-man with one bar on the face mask ... geesh) and a special teamer) leaving one internal lineman. The Steelers have a center, a guard, a wide reciever, 2 LBs and a safety.

Are you done trying to help the Pats yet?

That was "Mean" Joe Green ... geesh, get it right. (huge eye roll)

Ok, so that was not Teddy Bruschi on the cover of Sports Illustrated this week. Yeah, he must suck.

Mean Joe Green, Bubba Smith... Still some stupid fxxker from sxxtsburg.

And yeah, being from Boston, I would be a pats fan. I was a fan when they truly sucked back in the day of Tony Eason and Matt Cavanaugh.

Cornsmell, Don't be jealous that we have one of the best sports teams of all time.

Ummm .... ok flamer ... whatever helps you sleep at night. No need to get personal though, but I guess being involved with SM would make someone very pessimistic and cynical ... seeing how much usage that program does not get. [;)]

Geesh, let a baseball team win one trophy and the whole city becomes "masters and rulers" of the world. How lame and yet sadly predictable. Being from New York originally I am more than familiar with Boston's "wanna-be cool" attitude. Face it, you'll always be second best to New Yorkers ... in ALL aspects. [:D]

Of course, I hate the Giants and the Jets are defunct ... Dad's family is from Pittsburgh, and when I was born in 1972 I came out wearing black and gold, or so my parents say. I guess though, that Oct 31, 2004 was a terrible black mark for your "best teams of all time", eh? And so will Jan 23, 2005 be ... then you shall disappear like all the rest of the wanna-be's ... into the stands to WATCH the SuperBowl. [:D]

In all seriousness though (now that we are I believe even) ... todays game will be the best game all year ... to include the SuperBowl. For me, today IS the 2004-2005 Superbowl.
