Still just as good as before, and I'm glad to have it back!

Well, there are some noticable track changes, and there are even more noticble theming changes. One thing that you'll notice the moment you step into the space mountain building is the que. The envoirnment has been completely changed. Now your boarded up on all sides by the metallic walk way like eniornment. It looks pretty nice and is really easy on the eyes. You'll also notice that you can no longer look onto the track riding by the glass. The son is no longer there too look at or anything, its all walled up (those of you who've been on it before should no what I'm talking about, if not, then read on, I'm describing more).
On the past Space Mountain, you would walk through the que, and you would get to this section, where there would be windows, and you could look into "space" and watch people fly around this glowing orange sun. Now, it's been covered up by wall. Why? The only explanations I could think of are....

A: The room is so dark, you can't see a thing, except for maybe your reflection, and it might ruin the illusion for the other people
B: they just did not want to put it back in.

Alsp along with removing that, they also removed the queing entertainment that they had in the past. Before they used to have something like CNN running, except it was for a "Space Age" people living on different planets, now they only have about 2 TV's and its just givin you information on the ride.

So after you pass where the window used to be, you will go into a room that looks familiar, the rest of the que has not been changed, but some do have some modifications. Once you get into the main station you will notice instantly what modifications I am talking about.
The lighting has been completely changd to a bluish purplish glowing color, and it looks very nice. In front of you, you will notice that the "space station" is orbiting around the planet, and its a very well done loop which give you something to look at while your waiting in line. They also removed that robot that was "repairing" something or another, but no body really cared about that anyways.
Once you get to the loading gates you will also notice those are different. They are made of plexiglass, and they are lit up, and look pretty cool. By far the best loading gates I've ever seen or probably ever will see. Once you gate opens you then step onto the train. The train looks like what it did before, except the speakers are placed differently, and the seats feel a little more comforatble (at least I thought so)
From there, you pull down the retstraint and you launch. From there, you travel up the lift which had the exact same layout as before, the only difference is its theming. On the lift, instead of seaing lights spin around your, you see video, that makes it look like your spinning around earth, or something. And it looks pretty sweet. Then you get into the main building where most of the ride takes place, and you can barely see anything except for stars. You trvel up the short final lift and from there the music starts rocking out and you start flying.
Since its so dark you really can't tell what's happening. Its extremely smooth and the g forces are really low, I think they might get spikes of a little more than 2 g's, about the same on Thunder Mountain, except a heck of a lot smoother. And anyways, you just rip through it, feeling like you only get faster and faster, and your just twisting and turning, and all of a sudden you get a quick pop of floater air, but its so unnexpected, and unpredictable because you can't see it, that its extremely enjoyable, and some of the best air I've gotten, even if it was a little on the weeker side.
And so anyways, you just fly through, and you can feel the wind on your face, and it feels so fast, and then you fly through more turns, and then you hate the brakes and fly into one of the best placed on ride photos ever! And then you return back to the station and then you run off and take a gander at your photo.

Overall, I think disney did a good job at this, I'm pretty a lot of things are the same, but I know some things are different, for sure. Its B&M smooth, and would be a great starter ride to get your kids interested in roller coasters if you can get them on. Its very family friendly, but is a lot of fun. If I rated this out of ten I'd give it about a 7. But I think thats a very good score since they had to try and keep it family friendly without making it too intense for little ones. Sure its no California Screaming, or Ghost Rider, but it is quite fun, and what it lacks in adrenaline, it definatley makes up and theming, and ride time, its one of the longest coasters I've been on, and theres no sudden stopping on a mcbr, or lift, it just flys through the whole way, and if you can, (once California Screaming is fixed of course) I reccommend you got to Disneyland and get a park hopper pass, the park might not be a Six Flags with a bunch of thrill ride, but you can really tell that they try to go for quality rather than quantity.

Side note: There is no "rockit mountain" I think it was planned, but it just never went through. THey have two new Space Mountain tracks, but only one of them is used on the ride, or so the employees say......
