I plan on making this a series of new sounds that I want to make for Scream Machines.

Oh yea, and if NL supports this, you guys go ahead and test these...they're for everyone, not just SM people.

NOTES:

1) Coaster sounds can't overlap - for example if you want the Goliath Lift sound to work for one specific train in the steel twister track type category and another sound to work for the Sit Down Train, you will notice that you can't have them both. This is due to the structural breakdown of SM1, and Dragons IOA has informed us (in this topic actually) that the organization will be by train in SM2. w00t.

2) Interchange; mix and match! If you think the Batman Lift sound more suits the steel twister coasters, feel free to extract it there instead! If you think the Arrow Train Sound should go with 4-Across Inverted coasters - by all means go ahead to do so! Refer to your: Scream Machines/readme.txt for extraction locations!

From here on I will take some requests (not all) for new sounds. Just give me a video or an actual sound file to modify (or give me a default one) and what you want done with it and I'll go from there. The point is to not keep these to ourselves, but to share them around and see who likes what and to see what happens. Who knows, maybe these will come into development for something else coaster-related.[;)]

I haven't tried the chainlift sound effect yet, but the Multi Element Train Sound works out fine. Its actually quite good. Also, if you want to take audio from a video, I would suggest VirtualDub. It can extract audio, and its a free open-source software program.

The train sound is a bit too low pitched, I guess it's because the game is going to increase it due to changes speed.

The wooden lift is great.

thanks for the virtualdub recommendation sns2015! Do you know if there is also a good .wmv->.mpg converter or a .wmv plug-in for virtualdub? The high quality video of colossus from xtremecoastin.com is in .wmv format and unfortunately it seems virtualdub can't deal with those. Xtremecoastin also has many other sounds I want to use, but I can't get them all within the 5-day trial period of OSS Audio.
Thanks for the comments also everyone, they may seem simple, but they are much appreciated.
Now then....any requests at all? I may do something with the different chain lifts like the wild mouse and stuff too, but I'm open to suggestions and requests!

theres a video of Shockwave from SFOT> Could you take the lift sound and add it to the Schwarzkopf Coaster?

http://www.coasterphotos.com/fclick/fclick.php?fid=27

Can you encode that for the B&M style coasters?

Hey. I'll try to get those vids into mpeg format to send to you. I'll be busy most of the week but I'll try to get the ones you wanted in mpeg format. You did a good job extracting the sound from my Colossus video. Sounds great.

Great Job H_G. The new lift for the Schwarzkopf makes it sound very realisstic. Now. How do you loop the sound file when your using Audacity? Well...you did a great job and these are great contributations to Scream Machines.[8)]

You don't loop - it just goes into SM as auto-looping.

Hey thanks Ryan! VERY appreciated!

edit: goliath/titan lift coming up extremely shortly. fyi i merged the two and did a bit of amplification changing around. the result was a closer to goliath sound, but with some of the nosie of titan in the backround.

Ahhh......just open the wav in audacity, then select the part you want to be repeated over and over, and then use export SELECTION as wav... Good luck and happy recording! ;)

I haven't had a chance to check out your new sounds, but it is nice to see some cool new mods being released [:)] I had been debating on how to handle the sound in SM2, but this has made me decide to assign it on a per-train-style basis instead of per-track-style.

I went sound crazy and made a bunch of sounds. But some didnt turn out right, but 2 did. I made an Arrow Looping Lift sound and a Vekoma Invert Sound from Juilibee Oddessy.

RollerC - Yay two new sounds! Go ahead and post them or PM me and i'll add them to the first post ASAP with credit given to you. For the other sounds...well send 'em over. I'll take a quicksy look at them for you. rajen.joshi@gmail.com

DragonsIOA - Hey cool! That'll make the sound modding much easier to do (if it's needed)! Just curious...Do you record your own sounds? The defaults were much better than I first anticipated after first trying out the trial.

Also check around for my sound modding article in the SM section. It has to be approved, and it's very lengthy and pretty in-depth.

Thanks for keeping this project up and alive guys!

Here they are:

Arrow Lift:
Download here:http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/209719/ArrowLooperLiftSound.zip
Open the .zip and extract the lift.wav sound file to the directory Scream Machines/Sounds/tt7

Vekoma Lift:
This is from Vekomas newest Invert, "Jubilee Odyssey", so its different from the SLC lift.
Download here: http://home.ripway.com/2004-11/209719/VekomaInvertLift.zip
Open the .zip and extract the lift.wav sound file to the directory Scream Machines/Sounds/tt8

IM new, so dont expect mush lol...but they came out good. The Arrow Lift is the best I made IMP, bacasue you cant really tell when it loops to the begingin.

Actually, we didn't spend much time on the sounds for SM1. Most of them are just ripped from home videos and other free resources. I have some better sounds that I did later, but they are from commercial videos/sources so I can't release them until the licensing is worked out and so on.

Ahhh Roller...I just got to test them.....they were excellent. I liked the Arrow one more because the Jubilee had some interesting clangs in it (not your fault), but both were excellent! Great job with them! BTW, ballerboi is e-mailing some sounds over so ill test them and ill post them up in my first post soon, and ill notify you all when this happens. Great work everyone!

BTW, if any admin/mod or someone high-ranking is reading this, can my sound editing article be approved soon? I'd love to boost popularity of this project with a new article! And yes im impatient lol!
Thanks!
