Wich element do you think the next strata-coaster should have?
(all elements will be enlarged to reduce G's)

I doubt we will see any inversions like those on a strata coaster because they would have to be insanely huge which would cost alot of money, lol.

Yea, Loops would be BORING, they are in general anyway IMO, unless taken at a fast pace, which on a ride that big aint possible. Hmm I think although difficult to create for a high speed a zero-g roll would be crazy. What about "twin towers" that would be crazy aswell. Ya know, like a smaller tower, but the same as the initial one.

Well, all TTD and KK do is get shot up and then back down and that is the ride.

I would honestly rather ride a rocket coaster more like Kanonen or Storm Runner than a one trick pony like TTD.

i'd should say, freefall tower, so launch, over tophat, on the freefall tower and then in reverse.[pshades]

Your probably only going to get things such as hills and maybe some turns. Nothing more and nothing less

Nothing less, eh? What is TTD? [lol]

I think the most realistic thing we would see out of that list would be a rocket coaster with a second tophat as it wouldn't take up alot of room.

I think Superman: The Escape has pretty much proven that freefall towers suck. [lol]

Do you really think that? The feeling you get on the S&S power towers is phenomanal (sp?)

S&S towers SUCK majorly. Going down is a complete bore. I get (and I counted) no more than 2 seconds of weightlessness on Power Tower, then I am in my seat.

I get 3-4 seconds on Demon Drop and its a fraction of the height.

The REAL drop towers are the huge Intamin Drop towers. Thats freefalling. Not this S&S shot crap.

I'm talking about coasters ;)

But as Real said, Intamin drop towers are awesome [:D]

P.S. I think an overbanked turn would be wsome on a strata coaster.

The smaller S&S Towers are a real kick. The best are the original 180ft Space Shots (In the US, this means the Big Shot at Stratosphere in Vegas, and the one at the Space Museum in Huntsville.) Great negative-g at the top and a strong launch. The 80ft Double Shots are a blast too. Not quite as good as the 1st Gen Space Shots though.

They still are no match for Intamin's drop towers though :D

I'd disagree. I've ridden a number of the Intamin towers, including one the largest (Pittfall at Kennywood) and while fun, the 1st gen Space Shots are definatly higher on the arse-kick factor.

Well, I'll find out how double shots are soon being as one is being built an hour away from me.

Anyway, I'd have to say overbanked turns as well as some airtime hills at the end.

TTD stands for top thrill dragster.

I would like to see a zero-g roll. Even though that would be insane!

Ya there is the 80 ft one here near me at Canobie Lake Park, and because its so small, it seems as if you are getting blasted down! Maybe its just me, but its so thrilling, and although the airtime is so short, its quite powerful.

Yea, the 80 footer is a double shot. It actually DOES drop you faster than gravity. The figure I've heard is about 1.5g total downaward acceleration.

Well, it cant "drop" you faster than gravity, all of the Space Shots and Double Shots are air driven and yes, it is a bit more than gravity.

The only S&S that Ive been on that is worth going on is the double shot. The second shot yanks you out of your seat.

But for me, the moment is too fleeting. Its over in less than a couple seconds at most. I got into a habit of timing these things just to make sure. The massive Intamin drop towers are what, like 5-6 seconds of freefall? Just depends what you like better. Id rather have alot more airtime than a quick burst.

Yea, that's the first gen space sho.t. It's like a Double shot but the airtime at the top is sustained for a good 2 seconds or so rather than being a quick pop like on the Double Shot.

I totally agree, when i rode an intamin freefall it's just one of the best rides you can have.[pshades] But of course, gyro drops are also really amazing. [8D]
Actually i need to ride both of them after eachother to compare them. There both really great. Lots of air (one of my favorite elements, airtime[:D])
But i voted freefall tower, it would be awesome if it was some kind of shuttle, Launch out of the station with an 10 car train. Over the tophat. Going down. Up the vertical freefall tower. Maybe a bit boosted up with a speed lift. And then in total reverse, Falling down vertical is absolutly amazing. So if it would run the whole ride in reverse. I bet it will give an true ADRENALINE RUSH! Could be a nice idea for the year 2020, when all parks have their ttd's and then is this maybe nice for an tiny not so busy park [:D][8)]
