How is the one in the foreground NOT spinning? it most certainly is. The one on the lift is right in line with the lift, and shouldnt be spinning, however the one in the foreground is not. I highly doubt it was just modeled in there.

Especially when Ole himself made fun of the "photoshop" rumour.

Tell me if this was just 3ds too:

Doubtful, especially when the games own specular lighting is acting on it like it should. 3ds doesnt respond like that.

..hmmm... On the other hand... Am I the only one that thinks they look exactly the same? Oh, well. But you're probably right, they look better

Hands down the Maurer S?????????hne version is better and imo would be alot better choice than the Gerstlauer to make in NL, simply die to the outward facing cars on the Maurer S?????????hne version. Personaly i have never used to inverted face off cars in NL because i find looking at empty seats of the other train. I would personaly much prefer to be facing outwards seeing what it coming. Addmitidly i havnt been on a Gerstlauer wild mouse but i know that Spinball Whizzer at Alton Towers is awesome fun.

The only reason Ole is making the Gerstlauer version is because he already has a partnership with Gerstlauer, hence thats the coaster we saw in the last update. Face it, Ole worries more about the buisness side of things these days than what the customers want. Feel free to deny that point, but you know it reality its true

Actually hes looking out for both. If he was truely looking out for his business he would be making these all pay-for updates and he be doing everything possible to make more money.

Yes, he has hooked up with a few companies. How is this bad? And yes, if you were in the same situation you would be doing the same thing. Why? I completely doubt that he has the blueprints and all the specs from MS. However, I would completely bet that his partnership with Vekoma and Gerstlaur means hes been given access to blueprints and schematics of all of their rides.

Hence, when you have actual things to model from, you would do those first. Why wait around and try to create something you have no prints for when you have prints sitting around with all the information?

You make it seem like hes ignoring the community. If that were the case there would be no plans to do anything beyond his company connections, which, we know isnt the case. Hes got data to work with, so let him work with it. It will take the take hours less to do stuff with that info than it will to painstakingly recreate stuff with only pictures.

Well, i can't see if the one on the foreground is spining lol, but the 2 easy to view seems that are not spining. Anyway, thanks this image

it seems finally its spining, so hooray!

What about if they used several 3ds cars, so one a little more in a rotated position? That still could give like it's really spinning.

Oh well, as long the trains actually spin realistic then i'm happy [:)]

they could, but they would have had to design them just right so where they put the camera it would have the exact shading that the game would have done if it were a car.

From Ole's standpoint it's probably easier to add a simple rotation algorithm,\ than to maintain a list of rotated models to switch between at the proper time (which would require some kind of rotation algorithm anyway).

I'm wondering if he's really going to model the physics of it, or use a simplified model.

We'll find out soon enough...

I would definatly rather see Maure Sohne cars, but if they are adding the Geustler, spinner then hopefully they will add the Bobsled (Thors Hammer) style cars as well!

My biggest question is going to be lateral G control on these cars. During a tough lateral turn on a "regular" coaster, it is obvious that g's are controlled left to right, period. However, on this there is a second (or third) dimension of laterals to be considered since the car will be turning on an axis AND turning laterally through a track bend ... not to mention what will this do to the heartlining issues we were introduced to with version 1.5 of NL.

I look for a complete revamping of the AHG not to mention working through controlling the G's since spinning cars not only change g's rapidly BUT what goes left may not always go left do to weight distrobution in the cars themselves. This should prove mathematically interesting for some folks ... eh Real? Tyler? Buster? TConwell? (Oh wait, that's me .... groan) ... Heh ...

It's not really like that. With a spinning coaster you might bank to minimize laterals if the car wasn't spinning. Beyound that, pretty much what happens happens. However, because the riders are pretty close ot the axis of rotation the actual spinning won't produce many gs, maybe like half a g, max.

well, i hope ole make the outfacing type, but what if he pushes the envelope and makes it so where ever the camara is sitting, there is more weight. example, on a 90 degree banked turn, where ever the camara is sitting, it turns toword the ground, making the empty seat face the sky. that would be the coolest ever!!!
