Would you guys and gals be interested in a type of blog system where you can post your rants etc and what not in them with the ability of the people to reply and not be displayed in the forum, just the blogs section? We can do this for you if there's enough interest.

hmmm, I think its a pretty good idea, however, not sure that I would particularly use it myself ... So I'm mixed I guess, not bothered either way if you follow, so I've not voted, but I reckon other people will like the idea.

in my opinion...any addition to the site is a good one!

Is this an attempt to take the flaming off the site or what? Im just curious as to the way you worded it made it seem like just an area to take people away from the forum in terms of ranting and such.

Blogs are great, but they in and of themselves can turn into huge war zones if not monitored. Unless itll be monitor free. I like the idea of a place to jot down thoughts and so on, however, if the intent is just so people can run their mouths (which will inevitibly turn into flame wars) then Id be against it.


Again, intent I guess is what would determine a yes or no. What other details can you give?

WWS was inspired to add blogs from some of my webpages which i generaly rant on about stuff. I think its just a little area for freedom of speech really. I usaly can get pretty annoyed by stuff and helps to voice my opinion to a load of people that dont care

they'll be monitored such are the forums. We do give huge freedom of speech here but we also know some limits as well. The forums do get out of hand occasionally and we try to steer the convos back in the right direction, if it can't we lock them, such will be the case with the weblogs. The weblogs will be mor elike diaries or such which you wish to express there and not in the forums. Like a personal notebook which others can read and reply to.

Not a bad idea -- although -- blogs by definition are opinionated one sided rants that often come off as flames ... oh wait, that's the definition of a forum. [;)]

Either way WWS, it's your site. Add them or not, but I think there needs to be some education on what a blog actually is ... rather than a notepad for general lip flapping. [:D]

i say no blog. If people want to write in a blog, go get a member ship to one of the meny blog pages. I am a member of Xanga! so i wouldn't really have much use for one here.

Anyways, instead of scripting blogs, script something like the comment button for the rating.

that only takes an icon, the blogs are done, it's a redistributable script from the forums. We'll see about that comments icon [:p]
