Putting a final comment on the "tools" debate... With knowledge of the sim and how to smooth and reduce pumping, tools are practically no advantage. I competed in match-up contests past, and made several winning coasters without ever using a single tool. Look no further than my 3 contest tracks, KAZAN, SPECTRE, and THE HELIX if you want to see how coasters that were made with no 3ds whatsoever, and no NL tools, can still be right up near the top of the competition. Besides, the templates I have created for this contest require alot of creativity, and that aspect will be a huge portion of your score. In real life, I could care less if the coaster has a few bumps as long as the pacing keeps me on the edge of my seat the whole ride. I'm not saying that you should neglect smoothing... it does help... all I'm saying is not to worry too much about going against perfectly smooth coasters. If you make a great coaster without tools, it is a great coaster no matter what. If you make a crappy coaster with tools, it is still just smoothed and heartlined crap. Okay, I think I've said enough.

Now you've said that i feel like i could take on anything. Apart from real [lol][:D]

Buster is in! Uh Oh! Will we just be judged on the COASTER and not the supports? The supports take me the longest. If we could use prefabs and not be counted off I would appreciate it.

I was kinda happy then that there was no chance i would have to face someone like real, and now Buster comes in. Although i havent ridden any of his rides only the one he did with Hansixx. Although i hear hes good at making rides

I guess prefabs is better then nothing, and i'd think custom supports will give extra points [:D]

Supports are not required to be custom, but custom supports do make the coaster more original and realistic in most cases. Originality and thrill appeal are the biggest scores, but small bonuses are added for 3ds and good supports.

he's not basing it on technicle that much. IT's more of a creative/adrenaline kinda thing. So just work on that, and you have a chance. [;)]

Will we be able to download our opponents tracks so we can see how badly they wiped the floor with us?

Anyone that thinks it is impossible to make a cool NL track without fancy supports, 3ds, and sophisticated NL tools, I have a track that you may want to see. I made this track in about 7 hours without any tools, and the result may surprise you. http://www.weeweeslap.com/track_exchange/detail.asp?tid=7143

I hope this track will quiet all of the naysayers that think they can't make a good track while going up against tools, 3ds, fancy supports, and limited time.

Iron Man, you will be able to see the tracks of anyone that chose to post their coaster on the exchange. Most everyone will probably upload their coasters afterward, so I wouldn't worry about it.
