My entry for the Match-up contest this year requires a custom made underground tunnel. I would love for it to be similar to Hansixx's Centaurus's first tunnel. It gives plenty of room for the train and yet allows no collisions with the ground. I would prefer it to be one whole 3-d object rather than multiple segments that connect and form one tunnel, but whatever is most convenient for you. Below is the link for Hansixx's Centaurus, which you can use as example for the tunnel:

http://coastercrazy.com/track_exchange/detail.asp?tid=607

At the moment I need two tunnels to be created, but I will pay additional points if I later need another/more tunnel(s).

I cant imagine the job to be that difficult, and easy to any pro tunnel maker. So if you are interested, please post in this topic with your e-mail. First poster who posts e-mail, will recieve the track, which they can then use to create the 3-d tunnel. I will pay you in points, and I will pay a base 500 and more points if I think that it was done in a fine manner, and if you input more than average effort. Thanks in advance! [:)]

If you are wondering why I cannot create a tunnel, it is because I do not have windows, and therefore I cannot make 3-d's, well at least using Tia's easy 3-d maker, or which ever program you 3-d designers use to make tunnels.

I can make a really nice one if he can't. Shouldn't take me more than a day either.

Frankly, I am of the opinion that everything in a contest coaster should be your own work. Cjd, care to make a ruling?

i completely agree with tyler. you can't maka a contest entry that wasn't 100% made by you. a contest is supposed to show off YOUR building skills wheather you use tools or not. having someone else do it for you is just cheating imo.

Missed the part about it being for a contest, rather than the regular weely competition.

I agree, unless of course the contest is of a team nature or the rules specifically state that outside help is allowed.

I'm sorry, didnt know it may be against the contest's rules. I dont see how its cheating, as he said 3d's would not be rated. If this is the case that you cant let someone help you with 3ds then I am out of the competition. That's a BIG disadvantage to those who are not able to use the tools.

Bullshit. Stop blaming your perceived inability to compete on lack of tools. It's a poor craftsman that blames his tools. If you can create a good layout, you're set. If not, well, then you won't advance.

Instead of getting someone to make you a custom one..maybe just get someone to make you one with the tunnel maker to your specifications, that way you have something on your coaster that anyone else could.

for tunnels you can always use tia's 3ds-tunnelbuilder.

Whether you appreciate spammers or not is completely irrelevant - torch511 made a second post above that you decided not to read:

In short, create your own stuff man, it is a contest.

You know, there are other solutions to all this that are for more helpful. It would be possible after all to somehow get the coaster up there for the general public with the 3DS added, and send a stripped version along for contest judging. That way, the track would be judged on the builders merits, but the the builder can still show members his ultimate design. Just a thought.

Funny you say that, I was actually thinking something similar to your idea, but I like yours better. So now I have got to do the supports. I am crossing my fingers that this 10.3.9 update fixes my video card issues, so I can work on my computer rather than my bros.

Well torch ditched the project and I really want to get this project outta my HD, so anyone else up for the offer seeing as it's not going to be a contest coaster anyway.

I can make you a tunnel using the tunnel maker if you want. I can't texture it though.

Why not use a fake underground tunnel like I did with crazy forest?

Hmm it needs to be 3ds because it dives into the terrain and I don't want the track to be seen as actually driving through the terrain. I believe 3ds are the only way out.

You can hide the ground collision with fog/a black plane object, but you still notice it, oh well.

The other method is to use 3ds terrain, but it's better to use normal terrain, create a trench, and cover it up, it's not that hard to do in a modeler.

Edit: Oops, I forgot. Oh well, just use mine (the fog from crazy forest)

why doesnt someone just build a 3d hilltop that can be streched around the top of the trench , maybe with a way to build a tunnel opening, make it the same color and texture of the grass in no limits, and just post it, then he can manipulate it to fit himself, and we can download it too. i'd love to have an underground tunnel on a couple of my rides!!!!!! i don't know anything about getting into the 3ds but i know alot of you guys do... and that would be cool, but, how hard would it be?.......
