small and compact layouts, but if its a huge coaster you can only make them so compact.

Depends how small and compact it is. Some people can argue that coasters like Mantis and Raptor are compact. But I like the more portable coasters, they are so much more fun to design and ride.

Too me, theres no such thing as too compact.

you cant vote twice.[:)] I cant decide!. Normally spread out caosters have bigger drops and are smoother because the track is longer, thus smoother. Smaller tracks however, have more inversions, in my opinion, and deliver a flick-flack effect. I made up that efect thingy, coo huh! So in my opinion they the same.

Out and backs aren't spread out, they just go out farther than most coasters.

Definately, small compact coasters, or even lagre compact coasters, hehe. But they have to be compact for me, thats my only problem that I have with those big B&M perfect layout coasters (e.g Scream!), that they aren't compact enough, most of my NL designs are B&M floorless coasters that I try to make big like the normal B&M's, and with the same kinds of inversions in there, but I try to also, make them compact. Compact coasters are just more thrilling, because bits of track and support flying past your head at 50mph is rather insane, lol

That's a picture of the Boss, I love that one. One of my favorite woodies. Except is it compact or long layout? It is compact in some parts but the end isn't

both, i love compact coaster's in NL but they dont have the "OMG drop" affect (when you say OMG when you go over the first drop) and also the first drop is my favorite part of the ride, but i do like compact woodie's to
