Okay this may just be me moaning, but does anyone else feel that rides in RCT2 mainly are getting overated so much??? I mean, there are people that work and work for months on rides in some sims, and never get higher than a 9! Yet somone in RCT can make a mediocre ride that has good statistics and near non existent themeing and get a 9.5 or something stupid? Have people forgotten about themeing? Thats one thing RCT2 should be marked on, its probably the most important factor. What happened with RCTAndys, de@nos, X250s and Zephyrs amazingly detailed parks? Now we see rides that can be made in one hour getting 9s, and they are compared to rides in nolimits, scream machines, and hyper rails.

Sorry this is a topic where i can moan, but hey. I just think people have forgotten what makes a good RCT2 ride or park, and the good parks get lost in a maze of poor quality overated parks. [?][:(!]

What does everyone else think. Is this just me? [xx(] If it is i will leave it [:p] Well i wll have to anyway. lol.

EDIT: hey ive just noticed one extreme example of this on the front page in the top tracks of this month. Right heres one of De@nos new awesome rides http://www.coastercrazy.com/track_exchang ... p?tid=8827 a 9.33 i believe! Then theres this right next to it http://www.coastercrazy.com/track_exchang ... p?tid=8837 with a 9.75????????

Yes, I have noticed this, but then there are people who rate me down on RCT3 because I'm good at NL, and I'm not Jakizle, and I might be hurting his chance at recreation awards. :P

I totally agree with jpecool!
I took my time to look for those high raters... They're all peeps without (or at least very less) experience with the complication of building a coaster in the larger simulators like NL.
In RCT2 it's way easier to have high scores, beacause there aren't many things you can do wrong with you track (no pumps, wrong supports, ...)

I agree that the ratings for all of the other sims besides NL tend to be ridiculously high. Remember though that each Sim's top 5 each week is still seperate from the actual top 5. Each sim gets rated individually on the weekly medals. It is funny to see one line ratings of 9.5 all of the time.

Aside from this, 99/100 of them have no custom supporting, something I sometimes downrate a little for. (or at least uprate for having supports)

I agree, it seems like RCT is taking up the exchange. This is nothing new, though. RCT2 has always been the easiest sim to get high rates on. The main reason is that there is no way to make any rides smoother than others. In every other sim, the technical score usually bogs the track ratings down. In RCT, all there is to judge a track by are the excitement intensity and adrenaline scores, and the theming. In NL, SM, and HR, people can very easily nitpick on the coasters' bumps and pumps, pacing, originality and such. I don't really know where I'm going with this, but I just wanted to point it out.

I have very mixed feelings on this idea. I have been going here for a short time, but I have noticed this problem with the rct ratings pretty obviously. I have to agree that it is very easy to build a nice coaster with rct, but at the same time, even if you do spend hours and hours on it there is only so much you can do to improve on the design! It is very limited which makes it hard to rate. On the other hand the other coaster sims take forever to make, but they end up very unique, which makes it a lot easier to rate.

I think the most important point I have to give here is that this site was started as a place to share your designs with everyone! And this looks like it is being accomplished amazingly as I get a lot more downloads here than in any other site! The whole idea is to share your work and overall just enjoy coasters and parks no matter what the buiding level or technique! Just have fun and don't be afraid to post your coaster because you may have bad rates... who cares! Even if one person downloads it and cracks even the smallest bit of a smile while riding, I say it is well worth it and a job well done!

We also need to realize that there are TONS of different levels here! Not everyone is in the same boat! There is a huge variety of new coaster builders to amature builders to the elite. And this is all part of helping each other out and enjoy the games we have grown to love!

Noob rant over now... [xx(]

I do actually agree with what you have said KoasterKid23, but to a certain extent it is still annoying about the RCT rates. Im trying to find a decent nolimits ride to dowload and rate, but all i can see is ridiculously high rated RCT tracks, that take over the home page because of there high scores.

jpe, it's not only you who complains about bad rates. It ain't only for rct2 but same goes with rides for rct3. Just a ride, terrain and a station will result in 9's! Also imo jakizle's recreations are overrated sometimes too. Just only recreating the track. Maybe a station on it. And then he get rates like 9 and 9,5... Also if you look then at some rides it was a job of 1 hour work.
