Thank you very much, we appreciate it. I'd be greatful if you could forward the Yahoo screen name of the person who sent you the shots, assuming you still have it. But thank you for removing them, I'm sorry if you recieved any abusive PMs or posts from any members.

Nope I no longer have it, like I said it was a random message, one I never chatted to before. I'd like to verify your ties with Atari. ANy msn name, yahoo name, AIM name? Also why not contact me via e-mail where all this verbal abuse from your followers could have been prevented.

Get on your admins ass and get this crap deleted all of it, just make sure you get rid of the screen shots to. It ends when someone gets the pics gone.

You and your thanks are not welcomed here. You have never started out with your rude comments here. People like you are the ones that give companies a bad name. You can take your comments and keep them. Such a nice use of the word ass that you have here. Like you stated, if you are not part of the solution then you are part of the problem and you are part of the problem.

What was the deal with all you people screaming anyways? God, they're just screenshots, even though it was against the NDA, or w/e, it wasn't harming anyone. All you had to do is just let the authorities work it out, and it would have been taken care of. As simple as that.

In light of recent events, the ip's of the ones who abused of me verbally and of my site and caused disrespect towards my members will have their information forwarded to atari in asking for your removal of the beta testing program. Neither of you have the legal authority to demand the removal of the pictures either. Only two of you have direct ties to Atari and posted as you should have.

I was not online when this first occurred, and several users decided to act without asking, which is why they posted. When I learned of this, I made a request for them to stop, which is why no one has posted about it since then. Like I said, I disapprove of their behavoir, and asked them to stop, and contacted you privately.

And as for proof, here is my profile on the Atari forums:

Please notice that it says "Hello WeeWeeSlap" under the Occupation field to verify that the account is indeed mine. If you'd like to discuss anything with me, please contact me via AIM using the screenname "dkstrikrt"

I most certainly did not since for starters I am not a beta tester and I did not sign an NDA. About the name of the person, I can't give it out, I don't know who this person is. I just received a random IM on yahoo messenger saying, hey, you wws from wws.com, I said yeah, and their response was, want some rct 3 soaked pics and said sure. I got them and moved on. So I don't know who that user is to give them up.
Anyway the pics are removed till further notice.

While my part is over, I just want to thank you for doing this and for clarifying your part in this. I was under the assumption that someone had given you the pictures, so that means we still have a leak. Which is obviously Atari's problem, not this site's.

EDIT: On the subject of proof, my profile shows none, but I am managing the chat for the beta. Hence, I take any potential leaks seriously. I apologize if anyone here caused any trouble, I'm sure it will be dealt with. /EDIT

Thanks again WWS. [:)]

Why the hell did you guys care about the screenshots so much? Do you guys work for Atari? No, your only the beta testers. The screenshots being here don't concern you at all, you should've just stayed at your own Atari forums site and minded your own damn business.

Ok, just capping off here.
You accepted pictures from a "anonymous" user. Showing these unauthroised pics; (alike hosting pirated software) is also illegal. You really need to have a long hard (ok maybe not the best expression for 'coastercrazy.com) look at your self and the ethics which your site runs off. If I (theorictly) sent you a copy of a pirated NoLimits, would you host it?

I'm hoping you wouldn't, but if you ware willing to take these risks just for a 'exclusive', you deserved to be sued.

In the end; it does not matter where you got the screenshots from; they are still breaking the Non Disclosure Agreement.

Thank you for your time; and remember - you are still up for sueing- and in court, you can't 'anonymise' the user that sent you these screens.

Why are we so pissed?
Because it's users/sites like these, that demise the power of inhome beta testing. Atari have a NDA for a reason; If you wish to know why they don't want hundreds of unauthorised screenshots released to the general public; give them a call on (212) 726-6500

BTW: Regarding "I got them and moved on. So I don't know who that user is to give them up."

Translation: "I got them and made a uber cool "exculsive" thus breaking the NDA THEN moved on. So I don't know who that user is to give them up, no really; i DO know.

Dean, is there a point to continuing this rhetoric? People outside the beta don't know the things that we testers have to agree to, and thus are not accountable to those. Whoever gave him the screens is reponsible for it.

With the exception of the forum moderators who have posted here (who are not official Atari employees themselves) and myself (managing an unofficial beta chat for everyone involved), none of us works for Atari. However, one of either Atari or Frontier (or both) has expressed in the past that constant leaks of images and other beta material would be a cause for a cancellation of any otherwise-planned future betas. I think it's safe to say that the users posting here today were concerned about this potential reality, because this is the first time we've had a chance to test a game like this and we don't want this chance to vanish in the future because of someone being irresponsible for their part with the agreement. Some people took it a little too far. As I said above, sorry for any trouble caused by the individuals who have posted irresponsible messages.

With this explanation, I will bow out for the time being. I might recommend closure of this topic, as any bickering here will not solve any problems. Good evening.

Just to clarify a few things here.. WWS is not under NDA so drop the NDA thing. It doesn't apply to him. They may or may not have been legal, but I'm not a lawyer so I can't say for sure. Either way, it is not even close to the same thing as hosting illegal software. Yes, the person who sent them to him did break the NDA, and they could be in trouble if they are tracked down. But considering that there are already pics of Soaked all over the place (and I don't mean major gaming sites only), most websites would assume it's ok for them to show them as well. If it isn't ok, it's up to the company to contact the site and ask that they be removed.

Having people that don't represent Atari/Frontier in any way come on here and throw a fit isn't productive at all. In fact, you yourself could be violating the NDA since you're discussing it with non-testers. Plus, it just makes the tester, and to a lesser degree, the company, look bad when things are handled in this way.

It isn't uncommon to have a Soaked beta tester IM you asking if you want pics. I've had at least 10 different testers offer me pics and information, and I didn't know most of them. Alot of people can't keep a secret I guess. I'd guess that the vast majority of the testers have shown the game to a non-tester in some way.

Since I'm a developer myself, I do understand why they don't want unauthorized pics all over the place. But it isn't reasonable to expect everyone to understand why, and I doubt most of the testers completely understand the reasons either. Once WWS talked to people who took the time to explain what the problem was exactly, the pics were removed. Regardless, there's no need to keep threatening people, especially when you're not in a position to carry out those threats.

If you visit often, why don't you have the courage to post in your original screen name? If you visit often enough you should know me well enough that I can take crap from people and have the dignity to not ban them.

Then how could you say you visit often, the only thing accessible to members here without registration is the front page and reading of the forums. 98% of the users just go to the exchange. Either way, apology accepted.
It's disgusting how people are fast to stab you when you apparently do something wrong but never recognize you for the hard work we put into this site. Into the thousands of dollars I spend a year to keep the site open only for your enjoyment.

Yea, gotta agree with Dragons here. Screenshots and programs are 2 totally different things, even with NDA's. I beta tested for Tiger Woods 2003, EA, a company much much larger than Atari considering the volume of games they do and the magnitude.

I know for sure that the worst that could happen to WWS is a slap on the wrist. Atari would just be out of luck if the person who gave them couldnt be tracked down, but thats also why they should be selective of who they pick. I remember I had to do about 4 pages of legal work and background stuff before EA would even consider me, then I had to sign a few more sheets and fax them. I read through the whole thing a dozen times, I would be the only one responsible for my actions.

So hopefully this issue is done. Maybe also some people maybe, maybe learned a thing or two about handling such issues. We can only hope...
