2005 WWS/CC.COM Match-up Contest (Round 3)
Welcome to Round Three of the 2005 NoLimits Match-up Contest. It's time to see if you can build a dive machine better than B&M can. In this round, you will be building a vertical drop coaster with whatever intense elements you can throw into 4000 ft of track. The best design from each group will advance to the finals, where they will duke it out in an all out coaster building slam fest with a platinum medal and 10,000 slappin' points on the line. The 4 losing designers will each recieve 100 points as a prize for finishing in the top 8. Good Luck to All!

THE RULES:
Everyone knows about the controversial Vertical Drop Coasters like Oblivion. Most of them are one-trick ponies that drop you really steep really fast and then just end. Well, it's your job to take a limited amount of track and turn it into a dive machine to remember. Try to keep the intensity of the drop going throughout the entire track, and really give your guests a thrill without going over the park's budget. The primary judging factors will be adrenaline and originality. Make an intense coaster, and do it in an original way. Bonus points are available for 3ds work and inventive coaster work in general.
- Track Style must be "Floorless Twisted Steel Coaster"
- Track must contain at least one drop of exactly 90 degrees
- The coaster must be between 200 and 250 feet tall. (between 61 and 76 meters)
- Only one lift hill can be used
- No launches are allowed
- The total length of the track must be less than 4000 feet (1219 meters).
- The trains must contain either 2 or 3 cars.
- The terrain can be lowered any amount for track tunnels and trenches, but otherwise can only be raised or lowered 20 feet (6 meters)
- The coaster track must stay completely inside the boundary. Supports, station buildings, and 3ds are allowed to extend beyond the boundary, however.
- The station can be moved to anywhere on the template
- Extra points are available for 3ds, good supports, and inventive track layouts
- All tracks must be submitted by 11:59:59pm EST Wednesday, May 18
- Send finished tracks to cjd@muskingum.edu or post them on the exchange and post a link in this topic
- Once a design is posted on the exchange, it is accepted as your final design. If you send a track through e-mail, you may re-submit as often as you like.
