Froot Loop: The Hunt for Toucan Sam

With all the discussion about tools lately, I wanted to see if I could build a track with only elementary, construction kit, and AHG. Well...it didn't turn out as good as I would have liked, and I did end up doing a couple of small things by hand. This coaster, when I finally get around to putting some supports on it, should be a good example that will show how tools won't automatically make a perfect track. Not that it's a bad coaster...it's actually pretty good, but I think I've made better tracks by hand. I enjoy working with tools a lot more though, rather than moving all of the nodes around by hand for hours, days, weeks, etc. It makes me feel like i'm being more productive, even though the end result didn't turn out quite like I planned. [:p]

Anyway, I'm not wanting to start yet another debate about tools. Just wanted to share my experience with everybody. Here's a pic:

Nothing really new to add here, other than coming up with a completely dumb name. [:p] I've also started working on supports, which is looking like it will be a pain in the butt.

Here's a bit of information about this coaster:

Length: approx. 4500 ft.
Top speed: 69 mph
max + Gs: 5.1
max - Gs: .8
max lats: .8
Inversions: 3 (inclined loop, immelman, and corkscrew)
Trains: 3

Yeah, i've never been known to come up with good coaster names. It would be kind of cool to see Six Flags or Cedar Fair build a cereal themed ride though. [:P]

Thanks, IF. Hopefully I will finish the supports soon. I'm still kicking around the idea of making some simple cereal themed 3ds to go with it (mostly just a launch tunnel made out of Froot Loops), but I may just end up uploading it un-themed.

This is probably the last update before I upload. I'm done with the supports, and i'm in the process of trying to clean up after using the auto-flanger. I've pretty much decided against adding any 3d objects/tunnels simply because I hate 3d modeling programs. [:P]
