I like a variety, but after riding rita, i must say launch at the moment. Alhough i still like lift hills, as they really build up the ride. It gives an added tension before the actual thrills begin.

none of the above. I like to get inspired by a ride, then I build what I'm thinking of to start with, from there I go into more planning, in my latest coaster I'm building, I layed out a small template that most of my coaster has to fit in. I want to keep it compact and realistic.
But thats how I build, now for real life, I really don't care its all good! Although I really like the launch, each thing has its pros and cons.

I think this topic is referring to what you like to come first after leaving the station on real coasters. I did think it referred to designing coasters at first though.

Lift: Builds up more adrenaline, especially as you see the track layout around you....you're like WOW! because you're also higher up. With launches it's clear cut, no great view, even from top hats, you go over too quickly to see much. Goliath's lift is the best imo. :)

I think that maybe I like launches the best, although I like the beginning of Thunderation too. Nothing like coming out of the station and slowly building up speed as you weave around to the bottom of a ravine.

This may all be true, but for those of us that suffer from vertigo (don't ask) you know, we might not actually like the "view" from 456ft anyway, thanks all the same [lol] And besides, the launch adds a different kind of thrill to a ride, I reckon there is more sort of nervous anticipation when you are sitting in a train that is about to launch, like although you know when it will launch, you don't know at what exact moment it will launch. Then its just like being kicked in the face which I'm sure everyone enjoys [lol]

actually i like those elevator lifts, those are fun! [:)] for example winjas fear/force. I like also a launch, but that depends on type. As third choise i'd like the standard lift or a cable lift [;)]

Or you could just do what Powder Keg does and have a lift hill and a launch on the same track [:D]

i like where it goes up slowly like a lift but suddenly launches uphill like on the hulk. i dont know of any other coasters that do it but it certainly is my favorite way to get to the top!!

I like them all:

Launch - fast, exciting mostly unexpected really rushes you
Lift - traditional coaster feel, lets the tension build, kind of gives you time to get in the "zone" before the ride
E Lift - a fast lift that is really cool. I love watching it connect to the train and then begin to slowly pull you up the hill.

I like to sit down in the seat, pull the restraint to me with a little room and buckle the seat belt.

Thats how I like to get started. Personally I think you guys are nuts to go on lift hills and launches without first sitting down and strapping in ;)
