This year? no! NL2? no!

We need DIOA to make a fake announcement that SM2 is coming out, which will then spring NL into action

Some more interesting reading on this debate. ;-)

Special Note: Some of it is just plain out blathering nonsense -- accept it as so and read on.

I would like to see a NL 2 with an editor that's a little easier to learn. Better yet what would be cool is to have the editor and the 3-d simulator combined so that you wouldn't have to go into the actual simulator to see what your ride looks like in the environment.

I think it won't get easier then NL, or you should try rct...i've tried some other sims, but Nl has the best balance btween being easy and having control...

^I agree about the catwalks and stations. (we need good trees also) Better yet, they should dump openGL and move on to DX9, for the bumpmaps and pixel shaders. :)

But for ingame features, I really hope he considers other options rather than just spend all the time on adding 4d's and flyers. We've been stuck to only one coaster per scene, and I'm getting sick of it. (the main thing I hope get's fixed) The editor is also too annoying and tedious, I'm not complaining because I'm not a pro at it, I'm complaining because everytime you touch a node, it has to mess it up at another direction (They should add in an adjustable 2d view like in anim8or) It'd help me if they also allow us to make custom cars and track shapes. Hopefully these will be considered more than 4d's and flyers, which I can easily get by without (and frankly don't give a crap about either) The only coaster types I would care about are suspendeds and arrow hypers, and that they add more to the intamin 2 seat (like rocket coaster trains, trains with otsr's, and tons more options so we can add hydrolic launchers, etc.)

I like the current editor, personally, I just think that the smoothers-pumpers, flangers, and auto-heartliners should be built in. Why?
1. No more extra clicks for the free stuff that you can get already, just click on the link on the tool bar up top, and it pops up, and the coaster your viewing is automatically loaded.
2. Everyone has tools, and its there, and it comes with the purchase of the game, no more wining about using tools!
But, I think it should be all under one program, though, so like you can easily go from 3D view, and stuff and back to the wire frame view.

I think it would pretty pointless for them to work on things that already exist and do a decent job.
I would rather them put that time into doing something else that already isn't available.

No Joke FN. Something thats already available, hardly takes anymore clicks (You must be really lazy to worry about clicks) and works great as is. You just want convienence, like everyone else.

I can live without the stations and catwalks. You are on or by them what, only when you leave or enter a station and on a lift or brakes? When Im on a lift or brakes I press the + key twice and zoom through it. No sense in waiting for what I know is there...

Detail man, decency. After all, look at the details on the brakes compared to the catwalks/stations/trees. And same with the B&M cars and the remodeled cars, if you can't tell the differences, get eye surgery.

And for the editor, maybe some people just don't like to unescessarily waste time on things. Maybe lengthening the handles without having to waste another min readjusting it would save lots of time. Of course, it doesn't matter for you because you can forsee exactly what a node and the track will look like afterward. Anyways, onto bigger issues. Mainly with supports and 3ds copy and paste. This is the main drawback of the editor other than the lack of integrated tools. There's lots of other stuff to worry about before moving on to 4d's and flyers.

YOu shouldn't say stuff like that Real, Ole will be very mad at you when you convince everyone that its going to happen, and he doesn't come through. And he'll look at you Real and say, "Why would you make the public hate me even more? I just wanted to give them a game, and make them happy, but whenever a date gets released official, or unofficial, and I don't come out with it at that time, they just hate me. Why?"

I don't really care when it comes, as long as it fixes what should be.

We need DIOA to make a fake announcement that SM2 is coming out, which will then spring NL into action

Good idea, for making that wait shorter (and more of all, for pissing people off) [lol]

Why shouldnt I say stuff like that? Do you think I ever talk to Ole? Has he ever tried to contact me? Why does it matter if I say it as opposed to someone else?

First - never and no to all of those questions. I dont know where you come at me like that, makes no sense. Im no more special than you or anyone else.

Second - The only person to blame for not meeting dates is him and the team. They are the only ones who give out dates. Do you think I actually know the date? ha! Good one, you're funny. The only times the public gets upset is when they miss a deadline and everyone else feels that its their obligation to release on that date.

For some reason everyone feels that they deserve it - on top of getting free updates - no matter how good or crappy they are.

Itll be the day when people grow up and not freak out over when NL doesnt release the update the very day they think they will.

Real, I don't think cool was attacking 'you' on this one -- I can see how he worded it and it may provoke that kind of response ... but nah, I don't think it was at you.

However, you are on the money in regards to the 'complainers' who seem to overlook the fact that 'Ole and his team' could easily charge $25 per update and how ungrateful people are to get the free updates they provide. That much, is right on my friend.

you know what I'd like to see, bigger trees [:)] There are some massive trees in real life and I just feel the ones included with NL are all a bit small really. Alton Towers would be a bit stuck if all the trees there were the size of the ones in NL [lol]

gouldy, you can set tree size in the environment, and additionaly use your own tree textures. can be done already...

He's right, but sorry if you thought I was attacking you I was just pointing out that people like to jump the moment any prophecy is made, and they like to believe that even though the person doesn't know Ole, and well, you know. But w/e, sorry
