Can anyone assist with making a custom environment? I am fine with doing it, if only I had a good starting point or a "how to" paper that I could reference. I am so sick of the "bright sunny day" theme in NL, and while the "light fog" is nice, it is just not doing it for me anymore.

Anyone? Thanks in advance ...

there's also an environment editor included with the construction kit, but not as easy to use because you can't see what your changes do unless you save the file and load it up in NL. The one linked above has a preview screen.

I can make one too. Just use terragen and the env editor. You might have to adjust it a little bit, just open it with notepad.

Edit: Sorry to bump, but I'm posting a template env file so that you don't need the env editor.

If you don't want something (i.e. station rafters) just delete the line that contains it. If there's a texture path (and you would like to use it), replace the Environments\template\asdf.jpg to the address of the file you're using. Oh yeah, you know how 1.5/1.55 uses a bunch of trees? You might want to try adding an extra line with different nubmers (I.E. sim.tree4.texture.path=Environments\template\asdf.jpg
sim.tree4.sizex=8.0
sim.tree4.sizey=11.0)

Not sure if this works, but you can try. For the clouds, you'll just have to make a guess. (maybe it's sim.clouds.layer2.texture.path=Environments\template\asdf.jpg ?)

The env editor is for 1.3... in 1.5, theres differnt texture types for lims, im pretty sure you can only use custom lim textures on the caosters they were too lazy to remodel for 1.5, also theres more tree types than tree a, tree b and tree c...

Yeah, the LIMs custom texturing probably won't work, for the trees, I just mentioned it at the bottom of my post.
