I don't really get why everybody is freaking out about not seeing the 90 deg. turn. It appears to be in a dark tunnel, and I doubt you would see it even if you were actually riding it.

edit: and it appears that guitarplayer already made this point a few posts up. Still, it bears repeating. [:D]

You just do it, if they tell you to put it away, then you put it away.[;)]

this cam would be easy to get onrides with, stick cam in pocket and just hold the External Camcorder Module in hand to record and voila, instant onride without the rid eop.s noticing it [;)]

^ maybe not on woodies, though, because you might crush it on a turn, maybe strap it to to your arm, and wear a long sleave shirt?

take something with a zipper, and let the camera hang to your neck with a cord

Thats quite a poor camera. The resolution sucks to be quite honest. Theres far better ones that take true DV quality (which is what you want) and are still what they call "Micro DV" size.

You will just also need a good quality (not crappy) wide angle lens in order to make the rides feel right. Most, if not all cameras default lens even at its widest is still too narrow.

Real, send us a link that shows us one of these wide angle lenses, I've looked for them, but they aren't as common as "non wide angled" lense.

and one that you can hold the external camcorder module in your hand, I'd like a good one [:)]

Everything below the first one:

Here is a very good camera, slightly bigger but awesome quality:

Heres another one:

Basically those will fit in cargo pockets without problem, sometimes larger front pockets. Those lenses are essential though.

What do you need that for?

It just seems like you are trying to be overly safe. You can make your own clamp like the guy over at ACN did without much hassle.

I just would rather have something slightly larger with great quality over something thats got some iffy quality but smaller. I can find ways of getting stuff, I just dont have a camera.

I find that the best times are when its chilly and you can wear a hoodie ;)

Robb Alvey is, IMO, the king of on-rides IMO

He doesnt really have any competition though [;)] I certainly do not have the kind of money to buy one of these cameras with wide lens feature as Real pointed out. I mean for a single lens on Real first link it cost over $1000, thats ludicris to go out and buy if you are not professional, espiecaly from a non profit standpoint for making the video.

Also when ive taken cameras onride, ive just hit record and hoped for the best [lol] I dont even before looking to see what im recording, just grasp the camera with both hands trying to keep it as steady as possible.

My last point, would DjJavixxxx stfu about the quality of the video. Really want us to upload a several GB .avi file of the video for you to enjoy. I sure all of our members with low broadband connections would love that. At least think before making dumb posts like and whilst i'm at it, the quality of your videos is also poor, so you stand no ground to complain, just be happy that someone has gone through the time and effort to record this great video and allow the staff here to share it with the rest of you. If you are going to critisise it, dont download it

the video's i can take with my digital camera are low quality but i'd think it has a wide angle lens. At least, the video's arn't extremely shaking. Only too bad the output of the video is only 320x 240x. But great to shoot onrides with.[:)] Too bad the camera is now kinda broken [:(] So it doesn't work that great anymore...
