You didn't tell us a track to measure it with. More importantly there's water reflections to worry about.

And some unfortunate people who have crappy cards can't use AA.

But mine would probably be 20, as I've said, it strongly depends on the track. Oh yeah, why not tell us your system specs?

Edit: I'm going to use Canyon Runner for measuring. I get around 11 fps at mininum. I used a resolution of 1280x960 and AA at max.

Now I'm going to try thunderhead falls by Phyter and top thrill dragster by Real.

On TTD, I get 6 fps as my lowest framerate

On THF, my lowest is 4 fps

Now for the heck of it, I'm going to try Bino's Posiedon ride (the original, not the one with the lower polygon count.)

I got 2 fps when everything was in view. The shadows must've taken at least 4 minutes to load.

Now keep in mind that I had AIM opened while testing this.

mine is 80 maxed out, but greatly varies on what coaster to compare it to. im 80 with no 3ds and on a steel coaster with no flanges. but if im on a 3ds heavy coaster, im low, like 5 low at maxed out.

my 3d card is a Radeon 9250.

Pfff on most woodies with average-high settings, 10-20 fps.

IMB PPC 1 ghz (~ 2-2.5 ghz in the PC realm)
256mb 400mhz
Radeon 9600 Mobile 64mb

Very slick laptop awesome for everything but NL really, I get by though. Even runs AoM on all high settings so I'm good.

Theres no way of knowing what my FPS would be like if I maxed everthing about, because I know what happens when I do max everything out .... my computer crashes when its loading the sim [lol]. I can however, make a very good guess and say 0 - well, erm, 0 actually. I haven't got a hope in hell of riding a woody at all, even if all of the settings are at the lowest possible. I can run the sim and take pictures with an FPS of 0, but can't ride, because nothing really happens, it takes about 5 minutes for a woddy to even roll out of the station [lol]. Small stell tracks without supports and with the settings as low as possible, I get about 10 FPS, but that is the absolute very best possible that I can hope to achieve, usually my FPS is in between 2-5

Honestly, I'm not sure, I'm too scared to look [lol] I know that its only an 800mhz processor though. But its not the specs that makes my computer so bad, because I used to get 20-30 fps with most coasters (apart from woodies), the problem, is the ridiculous amount of virus's and spyware and crap that the computer is full of. Bascially I can't be arsed to get ride of it AND, the worse the computer seems to be, the more likely it is that the parental units will buy me a new one [;)]

Too bad you can't have both at the same time. They should really consider having shadows on terrain. (or perhaps all objects since sometimes 3ds terrain is needed for tunnels and stuff.)

100 usually, 90-95 it's totally chock full of 3Ds, scenery, supports, reflections, pixels, stuff like that.

Specs: AMD Athlon 64 with HyperTransport Technology (64 bit color quality)
Memory: 1GB Dual Channel DDR
PC-3200 SDRAM 400MHz
Hard Drive: 80GB 7200RPM
SATA w/ 8MB Cache
Sound: Integrated 5.1
Audio

Graphics card is hopefully going to change...I really want the new Nvidia GeForce 7800 GTX!!! But it costs alot...so maybe in a few years...lol. But right now, the card is good, an ATI RADEON 9550SE 128MB. Even though I don't play much computer games...I need it for the graphics art/ and media classes that i'm taking on the side so I can run them smoothly when I add a lot of them in.

Master Pi, just get a basic 6800 or 6600 GT, gouldy get an entire new computer [lol] Also Pi, what speed is the AMD (ex. 3200+)

Gouldy, you gotta have a decent 3d driver if you can at least run a decent coaster with a 800 processor

I run duel 6600 in SLi. Playing HL2 was worth the 800 upgrade (video cards and new MoBo to support the SLi).

3.2 w /HT
4 GB RAM
the best of everything else.

You can imagine what the framerates are on everything.

haha awsome torch, but not dual core processor, eh? [lol] But jeez do you really need 4 gigs of ram, and whats the opperating frequency or the mhz?

Dual core processesors are not that great for gaming, really.

I heard that XP does not allow a prog to use 2 gb, that extra 2 gb you have looks pretty useless.

Nope, thats not true, the non 64 bit processors only allow 4 gig of ram and the 64 bits allow much much more.

Speaking of half-life 2, my neighbor said that the ending is not worth the hardships it took to get to. lol.

plus, IMO the windows XP is more of a work computer (save documents, media files, etc.) but it is powerful enough to run games like doom3 and hl2 smoothly, but if you're getting next-gen games such as...im not sure what, Elder Scrolls 4, Prey, FEAR, and mostly Condemed or whatever, to run those smoothly would require i higher computer I believe. plus, it's a LOT easier to just get a new computer than install memory cards, graphics cards, and sound cards IMO.

oh, and Matt, how many gigs or ram can a 64 bit hold?
