I never payed much attention to g's. I know what they are, just don't know values very well.
Is -2.5 lateral g's too much for a coaster?

It depends, on a steel coaster I try not to go over 1. But if its wooden I wouldnt go over 1.5 or 2., If it goes red in the lats area, then you need to bring it down. But it CAN go in little red snaps for vertical, not more than a fraction of a second.

It also depends how smoothly it takes those high g's

Think about it physicly. Say you wieght 80kg, 2.5 lateral g's will give the effect of 200kg pushing you onto your side. Most wooden coasters have padding which reduces the force (yes, really. F=MA, Time derieved from A is inversly proportional to force. Hence increase time, you decrease force) and really softens the blow, but steel coasters tend to only have punishing OTSRs. Also as said if you exposed to large g forces for a longer amount of time, you tend to feel the effect more. Take for example hitting a bump in the road in the car. G force is not that noticable. Now taking a long sweeping corner, you can feel the inertia pulling you across the car [lol]

Just got back from Indiana Beach and Holiday World - I know I experienced G's over 2 multiple times, thats for sure.

Also experienced some CRAZY airtime, CRAZY (Yes, this is a second post on the matter)

As you can see, it get pretty hairy pretty fast! There is little room for ajustments.
I know it looks a compleate mess, but trust me, its cool!
There is a tiny fraction of a second here it hits negative 2 g's (red by NL standards), and then a whole few seconds where im still working on the track where it hits negative 2.5, i need the track to go upsided down or somthing, its a tight curve

hey zan, you can also do a small adjustment on the banking that might can fix that 2g to 1g [;)]

Also doing a eurofighter with wooden supports doesn't look good for me. But oh well, it's your choise...

-2 is probably right about the limit. I would focus on getting it to under -1.7 which I feel, when just a pop of airtime, is completely safe and comfortable. If you held it there, it would become a bit hurtful in a quick time.
