Here are few early shots of my current project, Anthem, a Gravity Group inspired woodie. Uses Real's CCI Steel environment with permission.

30ft drop out of the station

A fun little prelift section, plus the 157ft lift hill.

The first drop, 104ft at 55 degrees.

More to come soon

The pre lift track looks pretty cool... is this going to have an out and back type layout?

nope. Layout will be more along the lines of something like, say, the Boss or Legend. Free form pretty much

90ft drop down to the lake. Massive airtime, 65+ mph, and bottoms out 153ft below the lifthill peak. Also has a quick lateral pop near the top of the drop.

Image

90-degree banked turn. Properly engineered so that what little lateral force there is to the "outside" (high side) of the turn. However, this is very slight and seat depentend, so it's basically a float through the turn, other than the vertical gs (approx 3.5).

Image

Dipping down slightly and exiting the 90 degree bank, followed by a quick rising turn in the oppisite direction.

Image

An overall shot of the layout so far. Really shows the terrain.

Sure you want I-Beams? Real life uses the L-Beams for the structure. Looks like a monster with I-Beams.

Looking good otherwise.

It's been a little while Tyler. Nice to see you back at it. The coaster looks great so far. I am also doing a new GG inspired coaster. Though the environment and supports look much better in yours. If you what a beta tester let me know as I am anxious to see how your ride turns out. I am still trying to perfect the tunnels and action in the tunnels. Hard for us 3D object illiterate folks.

In fact, the 90 degree banked turn (Actually, 92 degrees at max) is the first point on the ride to have ANY banking.

More pics.

Notice: I have not banked the track yet! This ride is going to be a lateral monster, but not quite this crazy.

Image

Rising out of the valley and 90 degree bank up into the helix.

Image

Out of the helix the track curves up and to the left and over an extreme airtime hill that drops down along the front face of the bluff.

Image

After the airtime hill it the track goes into a 3-part "knob" turn that basically climbs up the bluff, diving under the double dip. At the end of the track, the ride is about 20ft above station level and still doing over 40mph. It hauls.

Image

Overall view of layout so far.

no banking is a little unrealistic, don't you think? YOu should have at least SOME banking, imo. But looks fairly good. GOod job, man, visually, its very attractive![lol]

Remember guys, CCI's and GG's have heartlining in places. I noticed it on both Legend and Raven, especially in the faster spots. Im sure Hades and Voyage will have heartlining as well.

Heartlining doesnt totally eliminate laterals either. It helps with the cushion but you can still do that and have it throw monster lats at you.

More than one way to do it ;)

Don't you think you should use the L beams instaed of the I beams? It doesn't look very realistic with the Is, and It'd be an awful lot of trouble to change it now.

It's not a tool. Just a combination of using the proper environment (Real's CCI Steel) and using the transform support beam command.
