Personally (if you care bud), I think the perfect CCI style supports, some landscaping, as well as some additional tree work will be enough to make this stand out.

To everyone else: The track work is Real's folks ... what more do you need? [;)]

Yea, I just dont think themeing woodies is any good. I havent seen one that really adds anything to a ride.

also thecool - Theres more Hades influence than you think. First, the trackwork itself is very much like Hades. I go for the little nuances, NOT for the obvious key marks.

That way only the true diehards understand the work that goes into it - everyone else knows theres something different, but cant put a finger on it.

Pre-Picture Post Update:

If I keep the current terrain setup (which will change in some parts) we arent even done yet and we stand at 6 tunnels.

We also stand at (give or take a couple) 15 moments of airtime, still reaching into some extreme territory near the -1.7 mark. The Laterals near 2 on a couple occasions but would be nothing more than a mear strong push for a second.

The ride has its first full helix that starts with a 100 degree banked corner (Thanks GG) and dives under itself, shuffles (not the train ;)) and then pulls back up for a lateral airtime hill over the station.

Still ironing portions of the ride out and the portion from the MCB to the helix could change. Not sure on the type of pace I want going through there.

Pictures soon.

Alright, here we go.

First picture - the MCB Drop

Produces nice airtime and laterals

A second look

Up and out of the tunnel and into a strong air hill leading into a tight lateral filled turn (1.2 in front seat but 1.9 in back seat :) )

The end of the double down from that tight turn leads down into a powerful swoop and then up into a 100 degree banked turn which starts a 360 degree helix that dives under ground only to pull back up into...

It pulls up into a lateral airtime hill (-1.4 verts and -1.8 lats together) over the station

About that lateral airtime hill, I may ditch it. I had another great idea to trench the helix so you can still see up but instead of going over the station which is both odd and risky, to dive down further under ground and under the station providing a nice headchopper on the station and some airtime in the dark. What do you guys think?

if it goes under the station, yoru gonna have to make a 3d station as well, the choice is up to you, and you alone.

I assume you are using PTC trains....How well do they navigate that overbank and helix?

Well...another considerable update.

Remember that overbank and helix combo? Scrap it. Weve gone traditional in a crazy way. (well, just in the numbers)

You now enter the helix low instead of high producing an average lateral force of 1.5 and peaking near 1.9 for a solid 6 seconds. Yup, count 6 seconds of 1.5 laterals at ~45 mph. The helix starts flat but then curves up high (still holding over 1.4 laterals) and flattens for maybe the biggest suprise of the ride.

Well, I cant spoil that now can I?

If I keep at this pace, we could see ride finished by tomorrow and 3d work wont take long since Ill just make terrain - export it - then throw up the tunnels, textures and station. Nothing truely fancy but with this new section the ride just jumped into overdrive.

Considering from those pictures to now its all the SECOND half of the ride.

Looks stunning real. Will you be adding trees because that ride would be awesome deep in the woods where you couldnt see anything.

Hey Real that looks awesome! I look forward to riding this one. I loved that idea of the hill over the station (though I think -1.4 verts. and -1.8 lats. combined may have been a little much). However, I'm sure whatever you included instead will be equally awesome. I'm wondering if there are any low/fast sections with some air and fast direction changes on your ride similar to the tunneled section of Hades. That speed and power combined seems like the best part of the ride, and I've seen similar elements in Voyage too. I'd like to see some of that thrown in somewhere along your course if it isn't already there... however I know that you're mostly done so I can't ask you to go back and redo stuff, though I doubt you would anyways because it'd be too much work.

Anyways like I said looks great!

Yes there are some low fast sections though nothing as long as Hades. This will lack a bit of that but the ending, while being encased in the structure, will be low to the terrain.

This ride is more about pure and monster airtime. Its also got a ton of laterals but its mostly about airtime.

Im planning a more Raven-esque ride next and that will be more like Raven on steroids - taller and longer and more wild through the woods.
I still think this will please however.

Trees? Of course! Trees will be the main scenery and they will mostly be 3ds trees because the terrain will need to be 3ds in order for the tunnels to blend nice and clean and make everything look right. Dont worry though, just 4-6 poly trees using alpha. Most video cards can handle it now (especially if I keep the size down)

Sounds good Real. Your Raven style ride should be a lot of fun too. Maybe you and McFly should discuss it's features... McFly is great with wooden coaster layouts and shaping, though I know you understand a lot about wood shaping too. Good luck and keep working hard!

EDIT - Track is done!!!

This will show just how much I know about shaping on these wooden coasters. Some areas show the smoother transitions (for speed purposes) but others are very quick - but still not a jolt - though itll feel like it.

I feel I can only get better after this, its taught me alot. This is as close to Gravity Group stuff I think Ive ever been.

Final Statistics

Length - 4793ft
Height - 110ft
First Drop - 135ft
Second Drop - 135ft
MCB Drop - 110ft

Top Speed - 65mph
Airtime - Approx. 26 seconds
Moments of air - From 18 to 22 depending upon seat (front or back)

Max + Vertical G - ~4.2
Max - Vertical G - -1.7
Max -+ Lateral G - 2.1

This ride is NOT for the faint of heart. This type of ride would only be installed at such places as Holiday World or other privately owned parks that focus on the thrill.

This is really insane.

Folks, let me just say ... OH MY!!!

You have no idea what this man is creating over there, and now that I have ridden the entire course ... (heh, don't be jealous Carlosio) ... but I can say that you will not be disappointed. Personally, I think this is Real's most adventurous layout to date - far surpassing "Outlaw" for imagination, and capturing a GG/GCI/CCI design (jam-packed with GG/GCI/CCI trademark nuances as well) like no one I have seen to date.

So, under penalty of death I can say no more ... lol ... but in closing:

Real, I cannot wait to see the finished product.
