you people are crazy. I see it as entertainment. Knowing that my track entertained at least once person makes me smile. Besides, its not like you guys were gonna get anything out of this. Wow, he didn't ask permission, what did you lose out of it? Nothing. So why do you people care so much?

its b/c it is a part of them. just taken without permission.

for instance, thunderhead falls, is a CS ONLY download. he stole that, and now has made it available to the world b/c of him.

^ and thats something to freak out about, I guess, because he stole the exclusive right from CS members. See thats a legit argument, but for the most part, people lose absolutely nothing, all it is is another mirror to show case thier work..

which is why you ask the creator because first of all it's their track, second of all maybe the don't want the world too see it, everyone doesn't think like you do, and it's flat out polite to just ask before you go take something. at least this time he gave credit to the proper people.

I could care less, infact I would be overjoyed if someone posted my track from WWS or one of the sites I uploaded my track on. HOWEVER, if someone posted the track on their site and called it their own I would be very very angry. I would still like a notification before someone did this though.

great point, one of our songs got played on a london radio station, and i never got to hear it on the radio, but i was glad that people across the states and across the atlantic got to hear my song.
in an idealistic way i look at this situation as "wow, even in france wee wee slap rides are on the web" (not MINE of course, so maybe they were "stolen" from somewhre else) and it's kinda nice to know that some one like this stuff enough to post it on their site, even with the "artists" name... so it's not like someone else is taking credit..
BUT suddenly i realize that everyone else doesn't live in my own little world and i say to myself... "hey, self....the guys who run this site take alot of time running it, and it probabaly isn't 'free".
(if you look below there's ads for coaster related stuff, and these ads might have alot to do with why we have this site to post our rides on) when someone can access something for free that wee wee slap is paying for everyone to have access to, meaning that he runs this site where we all clicked a little agreement box that says "yeah post my track!!", this means that we all have a reason to check out the site, and we see the ads, and the advertisers are pleased.
but then, someone who doesn't have one's permission to exploit your work to benifit their interests , or the interests of a collective that doesn't have your approval, should NOT benifit from it at all... that would be stealing...and that seems to be going on. it's stealing from the authors of this site, and from the advertisers and others that endorse it, and in fact it's stealing from the builders of the tracks, who did not give this other site permission to pst them.

Sue them ... sure, right after we consult our magical crystal ball to get their physical address, phone number, and real names ... I'll have a state trooper serve them with orders to appear in court.

LOL @ TJ. [lol]

Im not too bothered that my tracks were on there, its just i like posting them on WWS.com and i posted NOS on cs.com aswell. There the sites i choose to upload my tracks on. Why should another website get to have my work when they dont have permission. Its just the fact that they didnt ask really. And the fact that WWS.com is my favourite site and it is kinda stealing from us.

But i believe every word crash says (apart from the odd few i dont understand [lol]). Theres no need to sue someone over a petty thing like this. And i suppose it is nice to know people liked our tracks enough to send them to another site.

uh t-Con, have you tryed a Who-Is on the IP address of that website? one of my firefox extensions makes it very easy...
http://www.dnsstuff.com/tools/whois.ch? ... src=ShowIP
now you just contact that Host, inform them of the copyright infringement and demand contact information, the RIAA does it all the time. At the least you could get the site shut down.

Not that any of my few shitty tracks were used but I think its really the principle of the matter that is important. I'm sure if he asked 90% of the people they would have said sure but the point is he didn't, and people upload tracks to WWS/CC so that they can get feedback and enjoy other people's works, not so that someone can go post what they spend a few hours/days/weeks on without permission.

mekid ----> OK, thanks for the tip but it is obvious from your tone that you think you are talking to a n00b in the wirehead world. Being a LAN Admin for the Air Force I realize that and utilize those tools to infiltrate and block out potential hackers for the DoD daily, but at any rate ... I challenge anyone to find out my true IP ... as it is spoofed twice (at the switch and router) and that spoof is hard coded in the router so it does not change (unless I change it) ... therefore, my comments about consulting my crystal ball .... eh?

heh, well most people out there are n00bs. I don't care about finding your IP, you see like i said, if you have a website, your website has an IP, i doubt your host goes through all that masking trouble, the host gives up your personal info, address, etc, then theres really no need for your IP anyway
