What are the restrictions on realism? I'm not asking if I can kill the riders with 20g's but I have a few ideas that wouldn't be realistic to todays standards. Maybe in about 20 years or so.

Ok, another question, yes i'm bugging you CJD [:D]

Can we change the texture on the rings. That white isn't going to fit with the ride. I won't change size or any other thing from the rings. Just add a nice texture to it [:)] Is that allowed?

1. I never said that the coaster had to pass a tunnel test, I just said that there have to be "no collisions", which means different things for different coasters. The general rule is that there has to be at least 12 feet of clearance from the track to overhead beams, and at least 5 feet from the sides of the train to beams on the side. The tunnels provide too much clearance on all coasters, so tunnel tests are just to make potential collisions known... I will then further examine each case to determine if the tunnel intrusion is indeed a danger to guests' safety. Well, I hope that's enough information.

2. Changing the color of the rings does not give you any advantage whatsoever, so go right ahead. Just make sure that you do not change the size or position of the rings.

As long as the g-forces remain within realistic limits (about 5.5 to -1.5), you can make any new elements or innovations that you want.

This is kinda hard to word right so I'll do my best. Since this is such a compact layout, there are good chances for car to car collisions. But if these two spots where the trains would collide is in the same block then they technically shouldn't hit. Only if there is a malfuntion in brakes, lift, etc. Will we need to watch for that aswell or will that pass?

tunnel-to-tunnel collisions are only a problem if either the track itself is also a collision, or if the two tunnels are in different blocks. If the two tunnels are in the same block, there is no possible way for the two trains to collide, and it is therefore not a safety issue.

k, thanks.

Just to let you guys know I'm making a B&M inverter. And after an hour of work I've already got over 930meters of track going through five rings.

May the rings be used as supports?
Yes.

By the way, in case anyone is interested, I will be making my own coaster in this template for fun. I can't compete since I am the one hosting it, but I thought it would be fun to try the scenario out for myself.

uhh i hade a question concering this too cjd.

i am out of NoLimits for an undetermined amount of time (virus problems), so can you tell me how high the rings are? like near the ground, or up in the sky at random heights?

I've finished my layout now. I've gone through the minimum of seven rings. I tried my best to get an immelman in there but it didn't work very well...

all random hights, ragan. Why don't you just install NoLimits then on the other pc too with trackpacker so you can build on the other pc...

EDIT:
progress on my ride:
- rings are now colored
- temporary supports added
- nice screenshot to show to you all
- got name! : Rings Of Fire

enjoy my 570meter twister woodie [:)]

I've layed my first layout down, its good, but not great, I'd give it 8 if I was rating it in the exchange. Its definitely not going to be the one that I use for the competition, but it was good to help me get into the task at hand [:)]

I think I'm gonna build 3 or 4 more coasters of different types before I settle on a layout.

Well, I'm not sure if I'll have the time, but you may count me in as well! The template looks like a lot of fun.

Well, althogh I know I'll be in last place[:D] I think I would really like to join anyway, because I need a real challenge, instead of just boring old non professional RCT3.

I asked this before but it never got answered, so I'll ask it again [lol]

Are we allowed to delete the rings that we don't go through in our layout?

Only the layout I'm on right now, kinda depends on it [lol]. I think you should be able to because the 2 that I haven't used in this layout are just sitting in the way and my track collides with one of the rings that I didn't go through.
