The new charlie and the chocolate factory ride at alton is now open. IMO it looks great. Download the video from TN:

http://www.towersnerd.com/tour/credstreet/catcf/

The first reviews i heard said it wasnt that good, but they are from coaster fans, and this is a kids attraction. The lifts are apparently the best part, and they seem to move quite a way up and down, but only shudder from side to side. But it is apparently great having all the screens around you. Just thought i would post if anyone is interested in dark rides? I cant wait to try it, although i wont be queueing the 250 mins some people did on opening day....... Alton and their queues hey? [V]

what land was this built in? I can't really see it fitting into any of the current themes so did it get its own land?

^Its what used to be toyland tours, so cred street.

It sounds way better than I thought, I was assuming it would just be a basic revamp of the themeing. Anyways I've got a day off to go there on Thursday (for the first time in 2 years) so I'll tell y'all what I think.

Cred Street, the kids area. Right at the end oc Cred Street, the area at the very top of the AT maps, geographically in between Corkscrew and Olbivion.

Edit- here's a map, is it in the encircled area:

I agree heh heh.

Toyland was bad enough, although at least it wasn't as annoying as that smallworld thing at Disneyland Paris...

Yeah but the boards are never right. Well not always anyway. But i heardit was no way over 300mins, but the queue was going down past Hex from CATCF. Anyone whos been to the towers, knows thats quite a queue. I wouldnt do it. I would be riding rita and nemmy taking advantage of the shorter queues [:D]

Hell yes! [lol]

Jesus Christ, can you imagine waiting 300 minutes for that poop! [lol] You'd be dissapointed after going on it anyway, but you'd be bloody livid if you'd queued 300 minutes for it! [lol]

^^^ I'de rather not.

The longest i have ever waited in line was for Nemesis back in 2000.
And seriously, 1 + a half hours is just way too long.
It was worth it but i'de never que it again.

Throughout my life i've always been pretty lucky when it come to short que's. When i visited BGT to ride Sheikra i only had to que 30 minutes. And no more than 20 for every ride in the park.
The second time i visited the park all the que boards were all set to '0' minutes.
Seriously, no ques for nearly every ride in the park.
Although it was that day in early January when all of southern Florida went freakishly cold for some reason. Although it was stil hot to us English[lol].

Well people... I went today but I didn't bother with Charlie. Didn't even have time to get on all the decent rides anyway (what with the suprisingly big queues, cable car shut and Rita breaking down with a passionate persistance!!).

Much as I love their rides and enjoyed new stuff having not been for 3 seasons, I certainly wont be going back again in the next few years. If you can't some descent riding in on an out-of-season weekday then why bother?

Anyways apologies for not being able to review CATCF and sorry for ranting aimlessly.

Out of season? It's the easter holidays for every school throughout the UK, what did you expect? Thats why I am waiting 2 weeks for all the kids to go back to school and then get some serious riding in

Dammit!! I was (unreliably) informed that just some schools were off and easter hols started properly this weekend. [sillyme] O well, but it was still cold and was slightly raining on and off.

Serves me right for not being willing to pay more than half price to get into that hole and not finding out about their offer sooner!

I'd recommened going again when the kids are back to school. I know what it's like when the park is packed and it really doesn't make it worth going there for, but when you can just walk onto the rides, it really is an awesome place to be

It reminds me of E.T. Adventure at Universal Studios! Except utterly bizzare. Seems like I stepped into some lsd nightmare or something. But that's the fun of rides like these. I'd definetly ride it if I could.
