That's sad that it's being torn down, but it's also really exciting. I'm going to SFOG on the 13th, so I will be sure to ride it. I sure hope the rumors about a B&M hyper in its place are true.

Yeah hopefully they will get something good to visit, something that stands out from other parks, like Acrophobia-My favorite drop ride.

im going the 14th, the last day. its sad. i still think they could remove the no good auditorium in gotham city and re build the gasp there. six flags is so stupid to get rid of a rare ride like the gasp. its an icon for the park. its the first thing u see coming down I20 west.

I know, they should get rid of the auditorium in gotham city, rebuild the gasp there, and then have it even better with more parachutes running, i think that deja vu should stay, though many think it should go deja vu is a goood one to. i unfortuanly never got or get to ride the gasp.

They had one of these 'paratowers' at Drayton Manor before Apocalypse took its place. I think i only ever rode it once as i was about 6 and i remember it being quite terrifying. You stood up in a little square basket, where it went to the top and released. I remember some airtime for a couple of metres where my feetleft the ground, before the parashute opened and we glided back down...fun ride

Well, as a former rides foreman at SFOG, and the GASP. This is sad. I'll try to contact the operations manager, who is a friend of mine, and find out what's going to take it's place.

The Last Gasp Is Today 8-14-05 [:(] its very sad to see it go, yet i have been to the park since i was four many times a year, i never got to the gasp, and this year, i did not get to go to georgia, which is okward, because this was the first year in ten years i did not go to georgia, and the last year i can ride the gasp, but not now, so if you are in georgia, take this last opertunity to ride this very rare ride. See ya GASP[hello]

Well, we all would, thats why less and less people rode it, hopefully, they put a huge hyper, in its place, but at this point i have not a clue what will be in the park maybe a flat ride, possibly two new coasters one part of the connect the dots, http://sfog.playride.com/2006/ and a flat fun ride in the gasp plae, but we will have to find out.

I went on the 13th and rode it. It wasn't really worth the 40 minute wait, in my opinion. It did not feel like a real drop at all. It was like riding in an open elevator. My camera doesn't take good quality close-up shots, so I just made the design in powerpoint.
