Okay my parents are talking of going to America next year. They have told me i can go to a number of theme parks while we are there, as long as we are pretty near by to them. They havent decided where we are going yet and i am trying to influence them so i have a chance of getting to a larger number of better parks. So can you guys give your suggestions of really beautiful places in America that has 2 good parks or more nearby???? It would really help. So far i have Virginia and thats it. [:)]Help please![:D]
Florida...Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, The universal studios and islands of adventure. Then in Georgia you got Six Flags Over Georgia (near Atlnata). I have been to SFOG and it is a nice park. I would go to those parks. Yes California has a lot of parks and Texas has several Six Flags parks too. In my state of North Carolina we Paramount's Carowinds. Good luck with your trip.
Much of it depends on what you're looking for. Are you looking for great PARKS, or great roller coasters (and I know it's all a matter of opinion)? I always think we should go everywhere and form our own opinions anyway, but in one trip, that's a more limited thing! If you're looking for the best coasters, maybe Six Flags St. Louis/Holiday World/Beech Bend would do. But they are not necessarily the best parks, and are not necessarily close enough to each other and to other things to see in this country. The Northeastern US offers a lot - Six Flags New England/Lake Compounce - and neither is that far from Rye Playland, Great Adventure, Hersheypark or Knoebels. For that matter, drive a few more hours and throw in Kennywood. Virginia offers 2 theme parks, but neither of them (with the exception of the Volcano at PKD) has outstanding rides to offer (in my opinion). Florida offers great parks (nothing beats Disney for customer service), but the coasters aren't particularly outstanding. California offers even more variety of parks, but again, the coasters are not particularly noteworthy, unless you like B&M. To me, B&M coasters all feel similar, so to find unique rides, I look at parks that have coasters other than B&M).
If you are going to be in the Sandusky, Ohio area you could go to Cedar Point. PKI is in Ohio as well. Another idea is to look at vidoes of parks in the video section to see what looks good. There is a Six Flags St. Louis Video there. That would be a nice park to go to. Forgot to mention this earlier but Sheikra is at BG tampa so that might be a nice stop as well.
even though cedar point is the awsomest pimpshit park in the world, it's the ONLY good one (In my opinion) next to kings island that's worth going to, I'd stick to the south where more parks are.
In my post i did say BEAUTIFUL places in America. Florida isnt that pretty, i have been before. We are looking for places like New England, Virginia etc. I do know about American parks, im not stupid, i just want to know the geography really. What parks are near which.
I want parks with good rides bobcoaster. Not just a good park.
Thanks for the response so far. Just remember BEAUTIFUL places. [:D] Thats why i said Virginia. New England is also a good choice.
new york is very beautiful and i live 3 hours from hershey, 3 hours from six flags darien lake, 2 hours from knoebels, and there are many more that are within a few hours and its only a few hours to the city and new jersey where there are other parks... knoebels is a small park but its free to get in and ya pay as ya go they actually have a top ten wooden coaster the phoenix very awsome ride as well as the twister..
Do i give off a vibe that says "i dont know what the hell im on about" or something? I just need help with location of parks, i know whats there having been a coaster fan since i was 4 or 5.
The Ohio - Indiana - Kentucky areas have quite a few parks. Cedar Point,Kings Island, Geauga Lake, Indiana Beach, Holiday World, and Beech Bend. You could catch the Voyage and the new Beech Bend coaster also!
Go to westren PA and hit Kennywood, Waldameer, and Conneaut Lake, then go to Ohio and hit Geagua Lake, Cedar Point, which are about an hour away, then go to Pki which is about 3hrs south of CP.
