I have 3D objects which I have created in 3ds Max I added materials to the section I wanted and have set up the objects in 3ds max to show the textures I wanted in render mode. But when I put the objects in NL and run the simulation the textures don't appear and I just have grey objects. Where do I need all the files to be (texture jpegs ect) for them to show properly in NL? And am I texturing properly for the textures to work in NL?

The texture files must be in the same folder as the object file, and the texture references must be correct.

I don't know, maybe it might be a problem with exporting the UV coordinates, or maybe you still forgot some textures and/or didn't name the references properly. I haven't used 3dsMAX so I can't really help there. Just check everything you can I guess. If there is still a problem then I probably don't know what it could be.

Are they named with the 8.3 naming system? You can only have 3 characters before the extension and then the extension name. Youll know if when you export it asks you if you want to "rename" the file but it doesnt rename the actual file, just the file in MAX I believe. That could be an issue.

When I export it does say that 3ds max has renamed the texture that wont work but the name still remains the same, does this mean I have to cahnge the texture name to something shorter?
