You though Hillary Clinton was the biggest part of the "Sex In Games" scene, thing again. You don't know Jack! Or you might.

Jack Thompson, a Florda attorney, is attacking the video game industry! And he'ss gone postal about it! He was the man behind trying to get rid of obscene lyrics in rap music (2 Live Crew, for example) and trying to ban it for good (oh, and the song Cop Killer[;)]). Now he's after sex in video games.

He's the man leading the Hot Coffee charge (GTA:SA hidden secret) and tried to get rid of The Sims 2 due to the fact they're naked (if you got rid of the censors, they look like barbie dolls, no genetalie) but failed at that.

He also did the attack against Janet Reno (a Florida Attorney General) by slipping hher a piece of paper asking her to check a box saying
I, Janet Reno, am a
(1 Homosexual
(2 Bisexual
(3 Heterosexual

Don't believe me? http://conwebwatch.tripod.com/outthere/otthompson.html

More proof this guy is going insane? Here is an open letter to the president that he wrote. He says he's recieving death threats from gamers!!!
http://gr.bolt.com/articles/jack/open_letter.txt

Also, sense gamers do hate him (most do) http://www.badassbuddy.com posted a small, silly "Jack Thompson Must Die!" buddy icon. He became scared because of this (hence why he made up the death threats) and ordered it to be removed or the owner of BadAssBuddy will get arrested![xx(] Well, it was removed, but SYCHE!!! That was just to show guilt, arrest and prosecution are soon to follow.

Well, sense even the smarter people out there (including parents) will believe this dude, I have no doubts he will bring down the industry...someday. Unless (of course) a Hitman from R* games kills him.[;)]

P.S. If I get arrested for this...please bail me out fellow Slapians![;)]

Dont fret none, the industry isnt going anywhere. I personally dont care for games that feature mindless killing like GTA but eh, to each his own.

The industry is far too large and I doubt you could ever truely govern it like they want too. Just like music and movies.

Free speech doesnt have anything to do with it. You arent allowed to put anything in the main market - hence why you dont go into a Best Buy and get porn. You go to a "special" store for that.

Just like what would happen is you wouldnt be able to buy these games just anywhere. Free speech has nothing to do with it. Plus, 95% of people dont really understand what free speech is. They take it too literally.

So true Real. People have a tendency to use the free speech thing like a shield sometimes. It seems to me like these controversies only arise when it's close to an election year, though some politicians make it their life's crusade to ban what they feel is questionable or obscene content. I think it should be left up to the parents to decide what games their children can or cannot play. These games have an "M" or "A" rating on them, so you would think that would raise concern of a parent if their child wants a game like that. And as far as putting an end to the gaming industry that will never happen. It's too large and there are too many markets so if they do succeed in banning games with adult content there will be other ways of getting it.

Well, they sell porn in sainsbury's which is a big supermarket over here, so you know, its just on the top shelf and if you buy it, you get asked for ID.

I still don't understand what the big dealy is with violent games, all these people say that it makes gamers violent and stuff. Well actually I see it from another perspective, I play alot of games, including GTA:SA and playing that game actually makes me less likely to go round town on a killing rampage [lol] .... because I can take any kind of fustration out in the game, it means that I'm a very calm person in the real world sort of thing, if you follow me. I also like to play a lot of very fustrating games that make me angry and stuff till it blows over and I hit my bookcase or something, which is a release of any tension I have, meaning that I then won't take out fustration on a person later on, because I don't have any .... if you follow, I know it seems a bit long winded perhaps, but thats how it works for me. And anyways, I don't believe that its the content of the games that is the problem, its just there is a few kinda dumb people out there who need better guidence. If parents let kids have these sorts of games, then they should give them some better guidence .... I mean, if the parents haven't taught their kids that mindless killing is wrong in the real world, then my god they're the ones that should be locked up. Anyway, I don't actually think there is a problem, because statistically, you're 20 times more likely to be killed by your pants than by someone who has had their mind warped by a game [lol] and we don't see a load of people in the media trying to get pants banned now do we? [lol]

Actually, there is proof that violence amongst teens and young adults has dropped. I read it in an article off a website I go to for cheats [:p]: http://gr.bolt.com/articles/violence/violence.htm

LOL, so true. I can remember many a time playing video games and getting so frustrated that you have to physicaly hit the computer or console as hard as you can and swear just to calm down.

Also Maddox has the best answer (as always) to the GTA: SA Scandal

893,266 children have been irreparably corrupted by the wanton sexuality Rockstar has forced into our homes with the aid of custom software modifications and a handful of access codes that could potentially be used with the purchase of a third party accessory.

Irreparably corrupted. Ha [lol]. Nice one Edge.

He has as much infulence as Hillary Clinton. And all of you think she has a chance at the presidency in 2008 are seriously smoking crack. I think that the environment is getting more and more open to a female president, but Hillary is not that person.

Bleh, I hate politicians. Why are they trying to force thier opinions on us? I don't think that stuff like this should happen. It should come down to the responsibility of the parant, and the gamer, nuff said. What is this a dictatorship? Don't we have a saying in what we can watch and can't watch? People have different morals, and there are laws to follow, and as long as it is not breaking the law, I don't see why they have to censor everything.

Man this makes me mad. Rockstar never forced anything, theres a little thing on the back that tells you the rating and why it got that rating, the Hot Coffee thing should be no surprise, if you can already view the rest of the content, I don't see whats so bad about On top of the close stuff. They had the same thing in GTA: Vice City, except you didn't see her getting nailed, but you knew it was happening. Rock star did not corrupt people with sex. If people want it, they can find it, easily. (not neccisarily get it though, burn to all you desprate people[devilish])

Actually thecool, society needs standards. Without standards (or goals) there is no direction. I see nothing wrong with setting standards for content like this. Sure its pixelated, its animated but I dont think if you are under 18 you need to be playing a game with such content.

If so, get off the game console/computer and get a life. Chances are your social life has been deprived (not speaking to anyone in particular).
