I'm guessing more around 15, but yea, it will be short, and your hour you'll have wasted an hour in line for it, but if it was only like a 20 minute, line, I guess I'd go on it since it is there, but I'd rather go on KK myself, since its so huge!!!

Well, I think a lot of people would rather ride KK.

However, you have to understand (as has been said many times before) that the UK is totally different to the USA.

We simply would not be allowed to build anything near the height of KK, and I think your average park guest is not going to travel all the way to Great Adventure to ride it!

This really is an exciting development for the UK and I'm sure it'll be loved by the GP...

yeah, it would be, if it was the same speed as KK [lol], you forget that the ride is alot slower aswell as shorter, it should last for pretty much exactly the same amount of time as KK ...... which agreed is still too short [lol]

I would rather ride this.

Why?

KK vibrates like crazy.
KK is not consistant
KK is not as cool looking at this.
KK is higher and faster - so?

Stealth wont vibrate as much
Stealth will be far more consistant
Stealth looks cool
Stealth doesnt need to be the tallest or fastest to be good

Amen!

If you read on the offical construction site and read questions and answers, there was a very good question asking 'What makes this coaster any better than TTD, KK, Storm Runner, Rita or Xcelerator' To which the reply was 'Its all about the launch baby' Well it was probaly nothing like that, but i find the best part of these rides is the launch itself, and this is exactly what Thorpe are Saying. Sure they could make the ride like Rita, bbut why? IMHO the only good thing about Rita is the launch. They dont need some 500ft hill to make it an awesome ride. Also there are strict height restrictions at Thorpe Park too

I think that it's interesting to see what the coaster designers do with the height restrictions. It's almost like a coaster contest becuase of the rules.

Stealth will NOT be better than Storm Runner. Trust me on that one. Its by far one of the greatest Steel rides on the planet. The launch is VERY quick and its hard to say which I like better - TTD or SR. TTD doesnt take off as fast but definatly has the longevity while SR's is very quick off the line and gathers speed quicker than TTD.

Considering ALL of the insane airtime (no, I mean it, insane as in Ive never felt the bar press into my leg that hard before) on SR, Stealth cant compete.

But it can hold its own, Stealth that is.

if you think about it, having a whole bunch of record breakers built, one right after another, it wouldn't be as *thrilling* to keep an eye on construction or attend opening day or ride each one, as they would be far too common. It would of been cool if Stealth had a more complex layout, but it doesn't. Stealth will be something special that Thorpe Park has, a Rita is something special that Alton Towers has. I, personally, am not one to complain about more coasters being built, especially Intamin Rockets! [;)]

Launched rides in general are fun. Xcelerator for instance, is not that tall, or long, but people still enjoy it, namely me. Just because a park builds soemthing that is record breaking certainly does NOT mean that every person out there is going to flock to those parks with those rides. The GP will certainly love pretty much any ride you throw at them. Coaster Enthusiats (which is a VERY small percentage of people) are the picky ones who always want something more, something faster, something taller.

I do not plan on taking a trip to Europe anytime soon, but i do think this will be a great addition to Thorpe Park. [8D]

Actually, now that I look back, Storm Runner was THE perfect choice. Renegade would be my second fave and Steel Stampede was HORRIBLE. By far one of the worst names Ive seen.

This is definately a great addition to thorpe park. Its gonna pull me to thorpe a few times next year and i live 3 or 4 hours away. I think the theme of this ride looks really nice, the plans look nice, i think the whole area will look nice.

AND looking at that picture the entrance tyre (is that how you spell it) is up, so we will see the sign upon it put up quite soon, which means we will find out the official name. As i dont think stealth has been confirmed yet, although it is likely it will be named stealth.

I cant wait to see some construction now. BTW this is a nice website to watch aswell. http://stealth.themeparkoverload.co.uk/construction/

[:D] They havent updated it with pictures of track yet, but they usually manage to get some of their own unique pictures. Theres also a forum there to discuss construction.

Wrong. Even if the speed to height ratio is the same, the smaller sized coaster which is in this case Stealth would complete it's course a lot quicker than the larger version. With higher speeds a train can't move as quick (quick as in speed of manuevers, not velocity) as a slower one since just a very subtle and long transition can be forceful, where you can be flipped around like crazy on a smaller coaster while pulling the same, or less gs.

This is why very large coasters CAN'T have as fast pacing as small ones do.

*The Humdinger

I guess someone on the site may well be happy with one of the options!? [:D]

The Edge, what a flambouyant name! [lol][;)]

But seriously, out of all of those, The Edge sounds the best IMO.

Hmm i dont like the name for a coaster though, i really like IKON out of those for some reason. The Edge would be my second choice. Anyway, i dont know whether to vote for the edge or IKON now.

IKON? Your kidding me, IKON - AKON! Hell no, not unless your a chav.

Also to be honest i think Stealth is by far the best name, these new names are pretty crap
