but this isnt over yet. so lets hope it cant get any worse, but i know it probably will. a lot of people are just ready to leave the gulf coast to get away from hurricanes. but i would never move away. i like were i live even though im in a hurricane prone area.

I really couldn't imagine being in a totally different place with the only 4 other members in my family. I feel bad for them, and hopefully everyone will be able to get evacuated and cared for. What I'm wondering though is how rusty all the coasters at SFNO will look. I wonder what they'll do to the park now..

hmm, funny how some people are shooting at the police and at rescue helicopters, people like that should be left to die or be shot and killed immediately, note, I am stating the people who are doing the shooting at the people who are there to save them, not everyone. I know how you guys love to take things out of context if it's not spelt out to you

It seems alot of people think other countries aren't bothering to help. Im telling you, its all that is on TV here at the moment, and im sure international aid will arrive from our country. As America are our biggest ally, most probably.

It looks really really bad on TV, i have no idea what it is really like their, but it looks like hell on earth at the moment on TV.

And to anyone who isnt really worried because the hurricane didnt affect them... just wait till gas prices go up to about 4 bucks a gallon, because alot of our refined oil comes from there.

In a way i think this is a good thing (i dont mean the hurricane, i mean the gas prices going up). It will make people realise, we cannot keep burning fuel and gas like this. Its wrecking our environment, and we're running out of most of these fuels incredibly quickly. Hopefully this will make people really start to find other ways of running cars etc. I am currently writing a 8 page essay on how Hydrogen fuel cells should be used in cars for my A level SPU subject at school. (SPU is like an A level science subject, but you start taking it when your only in year 10, rather than year 12.)

hydrogen is a great idea, but has a stigma of extreme danger surrounding it. veichles powered by hydrogen have been built in the past, i remember one ofthe prototypes in the late 1970s, it worked really well, and the byproduct is pure h2o. however this was during the term of a president that could be believed when he said he cared about the environment. this president does not. i feel he believes that finding and securing more petroleum based fuels is gonna be what saves the world(at least untill it ends, he hopes..). he is part of a group of people who believe that what most (real)scientists say about human's negative effect on the environment is a bunch of bull. even as we speak these people are making fun of anyone who thinks that alternative fuels are a great idea, as if the only part of it they hear is "alternative" and they lump that together with other "alternatives" that they have vowed to erradicate...
personaly i'm a fan of bio diesel. it works, and would be a great alternative regardless of which actress might be driving a bio deisel bus across the country on a protest tour. hydrogen is another, even cleaner idea, but the way things are going right now i doubt if america will lead in this catergory any time soon... defineately not for the next 3 years...

I believe him and congress are working to provide more money for the car manufacturers to continue with the alternate fuels.

However I would also agree that hes going to try and get every last drop of fossil fuel he can get his hands on.


Frankly, I would too but I would at the same time be rapidly going after alternate fuels. That way we are ready for when the supply gets really low and at the same time, we still have fossil fuels to help with other products.



I was watching a program this morning about Hydrogen in our future actually. They say its a couple decades off but if we move fast enough, we could move into the "Hydrogen Age" as they put it with many things relying on good old H. Also, its not dangerous if its in solid form. Only when compressed as a gas or liquid can it be dangerous. Thats why the last bit of researching I heard was on how to make the solid form better than the others.

It is, I have been in contact with friends who are down there working right now ... you have no idea how bad it is folks. Truly, it is our greatest national tragedy to which only as a combined national effort, will the gulf coast area recover. The media is doing a fair job at covering, but there is only so much footage that can be shot and shown in a day's time.

We are going in with several churches here to collect things, and our associational office has taken over an old nursing home which people are working in right now to clean up and begin housing families from there. We have price gouging of hotels going on here beyond belief. For example, Comfort Inn is charging $140 per night ... normally they are $69.00 per night ... it is a shame. Truly, the human aspect and response(s) of this disaster had better change, or our nation will slip beyond what I believe, will be a recoverable status as a civilization.

When I saw the President down there I could see he wasin disbelief. He already had people getting hot under the collar towards him but would could he say? No one can say anything to console whats happened. All you could do down there is hold people and pray, thats it. Nothing else is going to bring back anything they had and nothings going to calm them down for days.

More more than a sad state of affairs, its devestating.
